Previously, the sedge mat weaving profession of Mr. Nguyen Van Thang's family in Quang Phuc commune, Quang Xuong district was done entirely by hand, so the productivity and income were not high. In 2006, the family boldly invested in modern machinery to expand production. Since using sedge weaving machines, production has been carried out on an assembly line, each day it can weave 400 pairs of mats, dozens of times shorter than traditional hand weaving. From the obvious efficiency of weaving by machine, each year the family invests in buying new machines. Currently, the family has nearly 20 sedge weaving machines. The total annual income reaches nearly 1 billion VND, creating regular jobs for 15 workers with income ranging from 5 to 6 million VND/person/month.
