Realizing the 10-year expectation of Ba Ria-Vung Tau people

The Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway Component 3 project, the section through Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, has now been paved with asphalt, reaching about 90% of the total construction volume and meeting technical traffic conditions. Records at the construction site show that items such as road surface, overpass, drainage system, and signs have been completed according to technical standards. Temporary connection points have also been reasonably arranged to ensure traffic safety during the initial operation phase.

Mr. Nguyen Van Trinh, Director of the Regional Traffic Project Management Board and the Agricultural Sector (project investor) said that the implementation process encountered many difficulties due to obstacles, but with a determined and urgent spirit and synchronous coordination between the relevant parties, the project was completed on schedule.

“This is a national key transport infrastructure project, of special significance to Ba Ria-Vung Tau province and the entire Southeast region. After more than 10 years of waiting, the completion of the project will realize the great expectations of local people,” Mr. Trinh emphasized.

During the implementation process, the project regularly receives close inspection and supervision from provincial leaders.

For many years, Highway 51 has been overloaded, especially on holidays and weekends, causing congestion and affecting the flow of goods and people's lives. The opening of the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway is expected to reduce traffic pressure on Highway 51, while shortening travel time between Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai and Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

“Previously, it took 3-4 hours to get from Phu My to Ho Chi Minh City due to traffic jams. Now, it only takes a little over an hour to travel on the expressway. Although the entire route is not yet complete, the opening of this section is a great joy for drivers like us,” said Nguyen Van Hung, a container driver.

Not only the people, but also the logistics and transport business community will benefit significantly. The new expressway helps optimize transportation time, reduce logistics costs and improve supply chain efficiency. Connectivity from industrial parks to Cai Mep-Thi Vai deep-water port will be greatly improved, contributing to promoting import and export activities of the key economic region in the South.

As the main contractor, Son Hai Group Corporation has mobilized hundreds of modern machines and a team of engineers and workers to work continuously in three shifts for many months. This is also the unit that has constructed many high-quality highways across the country.

“The Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway is not only a key transport project but also a source of pride. We are committed to ensuring the highest quality, from the foundation structure, road surface, drainage system to the landscape along the route,” a representative of Son Hai Group affirmed.

Connecting the future, opening new development corridors

The technical opening of the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau expressway is considered a strategic step in developing the transport infrastructure of the Southeast region. Especially for Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, this project will open a new development corridor, synchronously connecting from Phu My industrial center to Long Hai, Ho Tram and Vung Tau city tourist areas.

In the coming time, the remaining items such as intersections, residential roads and landscapes on both sides of the route will continue to be completed. At the same time, the remaining section passing through Dong Nai will also be accelerated to complete the entire route by 2026.
