Sand mine serving Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project under 10 billion auctioned up to 155 billion

Three sand mines in Ben Tre had a starting price of less than 10 billion VND, but each mine was auctioned for over 155 billion VND. These mines were auctioned to serve the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project.


On October 24, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ben Tre province officially organized an auction for the right to exploit minerals in three sand mines on Tien and Ham Luong rivers in Chau Thanh and Ba Tri districts.

Accordingly, the Quoi Son sand mine on Tien River, in Quoi Son commune, Chau Thanh district, Ben Tre province, with more than 1 million m3, has a starting price of over 6.4 billion VND.

After 55 rounds, the highest bidder was Mr. Nguyen Phi Long, representative of Thanh Huy Group Corporation, with a price of over 163 billion VND.

For the An Duc - An Hoa Tay sand mine on Ham Luong River in An Duc and An Hoa Tay communes (Ba Tri district, Ben Tre province) with a reserve of over 1.6 million m3, the starting price is over 9.6 billion VND. After 17 rounds of bidding, the highest bidder was Mr. Do Duc Binh representing Hai Dang Joint Stock Company with a price of over 169 billion VND.

The An Hiep - An Ngai Tay sand mine on the Ham Luong River in An Hiep and An Ngai Tay communes (Ba Tri district, Ben Tre province) has a reserve of about 1.4 million m3, with a starting price of over VND8.3 billion. After 17 rounds of bidding, the highest bidder was Mr. Do Duc Binh, representing Hai Dang Joint Stock Company, with a price of over VND155 billion.

Previously, 30 organizations and enterprises purchased auction documents for the right to exploit these 3 sand mines. According to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ben Tre province, the total reserve of the above mines is 4 million m3, of which 2 million m3 is for the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project, the rest is for key projects of Ben Tre province.

Ben Tre province was assigned by the Government to supply 7.37 million m3 of sand for key traffic projects in the southern provinces, including: Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway 2 million m3, component project 3 of Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project 3.37 million m3, Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project 2 million m3.
