Work hard, never thinking of being honored one day

“We worked hard and dedicated ourselves without thinking that one day we would receive honor. I have listened to the program Glory of Vietnam for a long time but did not think that one day I would be selected for honor. Personally, I feel extremely proud and sincerely thank the voting committee.”

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Truc Le is one of 10 individuals honored at the Vietnam Glory Program 2024.

Expressing his great honor at being honored, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Truc Le humbly said: “This is an opportunity for me to learn, share, and spread the message of the Party and State, which are looking forward to groups and individuals contributing more to the development of the country.”

As someone who has lived and worked abroad for 17 years, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Truc Le recognizes that the brain drain and money drain have a huge impact on the country. Therefore, the school where the Associate Professor Dr. is the chairman of the council has implemented activities to bring foreign professors to Vietnam to teach Vietnamese people, instead of Vietnamese people going abroad to study; instead of studying abroad, many students have chosen to study at the school, thereby contributing to preventing brain drain and money drain.

Sharing at the press conference, Ms. Le Thi Hong Van - Acting Director, Department of Cultural Diplomacy and UNESCO, Secretary General of the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO expressed her honor and pride that the Department of Cultural Diplomacy and UNESCO is one of 20 groups and individuals to be honored at this year's program.

“We express our deep gratitude for the recognition of the leaders of the Party, the State, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and the people for the contributions of the diplomatic sector, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, of which the Department of Cultural Diplomacy and UNESCO is only one unit contributing to that common achievement. Together with our unit, we also have the companionship of units of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, of 94 Vietnamese representative agencies abroad, and the very effective and close companionship and participation of ministries, localities, and enterprises,” said Ms. Le Thi Hong Van.

Ms. Le Thi Hong Van also said that participating in the program helps the Department of Cultural Diplomacy and UNESCO gain more motivation and have the opportunity to learn more from groups and individuals, thereby creating common strength and contributing more to the development of Vietnam.

Along with honor and pride, the unit is also deeply aware of its responsibility in foreign affairs, to continue to clearly demonstrate the diplomatic identity of Vietnamese bamboo.
