TPO - The forecast from November 4 to 6 is the peak period of heavy rain in the Central provinces with three-day rainfall ranging from 220mm to 400mm, with some places over 700mm. Warning of an especially high risk of flash floods, landslides and widespread flooding.
Last night and early this morning (November 4), the area from Quang Tri to Thua Thien Hue had moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, other places in the North and Central Central regions, Southern Central Highlands and the South had locally heavy to very heavy rain.
Rainfall from 7pm on November 3 to 3am on November 4 was over 50mm in some places such as Dam Doi (Ca Mau) 105.6mm, Vinh Kim (Quang Tri) 98.0mm, Ben Soi (Tay Ninh) 78mm, Ky Thinh (Ha Tinh) 64.0mm, Thuan An (Thua Thien Hue) 58.6mm, Long Dien Tay (Bac Lieu) 53.6mm.
From today, a strong cold air mass from the North begins to flow down to our country, combined with the disturbance of the East wind zone above and the windward terrain of the Truong Son mountain range, causing the Central region to experience peak heavy rain for three days (November 4-6).

It is forecasted that from early morning of November 4 to early morning of November 6, the area from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai will have heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall from 150-250 mm, some places over 400 mm. There is a very high risk of localized heavy rain over 150 mm in intensity within 6 hours.
During the day and night of November 6, the area from Quang Binh to Binh Dinh continued to have heavy rain, locally very heavy rain and thunderstorms with common rainfall of 70 - 150 mm, some places over 250 mm, especially the area from Quang Binh to Da Nang common rainfall of 100-200 mm, some places over 300 mm.
In addition, from the morning of November 4 to the morning of November 5, the Thanh Hoa - Nghe An area will have moderate rain, heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with rainfall from 50 - 100 mm, some places over 150 mm.
Also during the day and night of November 4, the Southern Central Highlands and the Southern region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall from 15-30 mm, some places over 60 mm, thunderstorms concentrated in the afternoon and evening.
The Meteorological Agency has warned that heavy rain in the central provinces is likely to continue for many days to come. Thunderstorms may include tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
Due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain, there is a very high risk of flooding in low-lying areas, flash floods on small rivers and streams, and landslides on steep slopes in provinces from Ha Tinh to Binh Dinh.
