This afternoon (February 9), the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that due to the impact of a strong cold air mass that has been flowing since February 7, the weather in the North will continue to be very cold until tomorrow (February 10), after which the temperature will gradually increase.

From the night of February 10-11, there will be light rain in some places, with scattered fog and light fog in the early morning; sunny in the afternoon; very cold; high mountainous areas are likely to have frost and frost; from February 11, it will be cold, with some mountainous areas being very cold.

Notably, from the night of February 12, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, South Son La, Hoa Binh and the Northeast region will have light rain, drizzle and fog at night and in the morning; cold weather, with some mountainous areas experiencing severe cold. The Northwest region will have sunny weather in the afternoon and evening.

Head of Weather Forecasting Department, National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting Nguyen Van Huong said that the humid conditions in the North will occur from the end of February and last until April this year.

According to Mr. Huong, humid spells usually last from 3-5 days, even a week, and only end or change when the Northeast monsoon arrives.

According to the climate law, February is still winter so cold air still has a strong impact on our country. From the end of February onwards, dry air is replaced by humid air mass.

During this period, the provinces and cities in the North will experience light rain, drizzle, fog, and cold weather at night and in the morning.

Mr. Huong added that the humid weather phenomenon will occur commonly in the Northern region, especially the capital Hanoi from the end of February to April every year. During this period, the air humidity increases to over 85% along with drizzle and fog, causing dampness in houses, civil works and essential items.

Experts warn that humid weather causes difficulties in people's daily activities and negatively affects their health. High humidity also creates a favorable environment for agents that cause respiratory diseases and allergies, especially for children and the elderly.

For other regions, the meteorological agency has just made a climate assessment from now until February 14. In particular, the North Central region will have rain in some places. It will be very cold, with some mountainous areas experiencing severe cold; from the night of February 10-12, it will be cold, then turn cold in the morning and at night. From February 12-14, there will be scattered fog and light fog in the early morning.

In the Central Central region from February 8-10, there will be rain, showers, locally heavy rain and thunderstorms. From February 11-14, there will be rain in some places, cold weather then turning cold in the morning and at night. In the South Central region from February 8-10, there will be rain, showers, locally heavy rain and thunderstorms in the North, and scattered showers and thunderstorms in the South; from February 11-13, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places. There is a possibility of tornadoes, whirlwinds and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms.

The Central Highlands and the South from now until February 14 will maintain sunny days, with showers and thunderstorms in some places in the late afternoon and night.

As for Hanoi weather , from now until February 10, there will be light rain in some places; the weather will be very cold; from the night of February 10-11, it will be cold.
From February 12-14, this area will start to experience light rain, drizzle and scattered fog in the early morning and at night. It will be cold in the morning and at night. This weather pattern is forecasted to last for many days to come.
