The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that cold air is moving south. On the afternoon of October 22, cold air affected the mountainous areas of the Northeast, then other places in the Northeast, North Central, some places in the Northwest and North Central.

During this cold spell, the weather in the North, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An will turn cooler. From the night of October 23, these areas will be cold at night and in the morning, in which the mountainous areas of the North will be cold at night and in the morning.

The lowest temperature in the North is commonly 19-21 degrees Celsius, in mountainous areas 17-19 degrees Celsius, in high mountainous areas in some places below 16 degrees Celsius, in Thanh Hoa-Nghe An the lowest temperature is commonly 20-23 degrees Celsius.

Also according to the meteorological agency, from the evening of October 21 to the night of October 22, Quang Tri to Binh Dinh will have moderate rain, some places will have very heavy rain with common rainfall of 50-100mm, locally over 150mm. There is a risk of local heavy rain (over 100mm/6 hours). From October 23, heavy rain will gradually decrease.

In addition, from the evening of October 21 to October 22, Thanh Hoa to Quang Binh and Phu Yen will have rain, moderate rain, locally heavy rain with rainfall from 20-40mm, in some places over 70mm.

In the afternoon and evening of October 21, the Central Highlands and the South will have rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall of 20-40mm, in some places over 80mm.

On the afternoon and night of October 22, the North will have scattered showers and thunderstorms. From the night of October 22 to October 23, Nghe An to Binh Dinh will have rain, moderate rain, locally heavy rain and thunderstorms.

Thunderstorms may include tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong winds.

At sea, from the night of October 22, the Northeast wind in the Gulf of Tonkin gradually increased to level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8-9, rough seas, waves 1.5-2.5m high. In the North East Sea, the Northeast wind increased to level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8-9, rough seas, waves 2.5-4.5m high.
