According to the Michelin Guide, Vietnam’s banh cuon, made to order, allows diners to watch the baker steam and prepare the rolls right before their eyes. There are two types of banh cuon: the more common one, which is filled with minced pork and black fungus, and another version, the egg banh cuon.

"In Ho Chi Minh City, the highlight is hu tieu, a famous dish that reflects the historical culinary fusion in Vietnam. This blend combines the culinary traditions of Teochew and Khmer and was introduced to South Vietnam by Cambodian repatriates in the 1970s.

Michelin describes the bun cha shops in the Old Quarter as popular with tourists. Their simple menu includes many combinations of bun cha (rice noodles with grilled pork) combined with different nem ran (fried spring rolls), each with its own distinct flavor.

Michelin Guide introduces international diners to a Vietnamese snack called "xoi". Vietnamese sticky rice is often enjoyed by locals as a simple breakfast or lunch.
