The Mexican Workers' Party (PT) and the ruling coalition in Mexico, of which PT is a member, highly appreciate the great contributions of the Vietnamese revolutionary press in the cause of defending and building the country, including its important role in connecting information between Vietnam and the world.
Secretary General of the Mexican Workers' Party (PT) Alberto Anaya Gutiérrez.
This was the statement of General Secretary of the Mexican Party Alberto Anaya Guitiérrez during a reception for a delegation of Vietnamese journalists led by former Director General of the Vietnam News Agency Tran Mai Huong, who are on a working visit to Mexico within the framework of foreign affairs activities towards the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Mexico (1975-2025). According to the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Mexico, congratulating the Vietnamese government and people on the 79th anniversary of the National Day, General Secretary Anaya expressed his admiration for the national liberation struggle of the Vietnamese people and President Ho Chi Minh, affirming that Vietnam's success today must be attributed to the key role of the Communist Party of Vietnam - the force that has transformed Vietnam from a poor, backward country, heavily affected by war, into a rich and powerful country with an increasingly important position and role in the region and the world. Regarding the Vietnamese revolutionary press in general and VNA in particular, General Secretary PT said that as a person who loves Vietnam and always closely follows information about Vietnam, he realized that over the past nearly 100 years, the Vietnamese revolutionary press has not only recorded historical moments, but also been a source of inspiration for the struggle for independence, construction and development of the country. Congratulating the heroic 79-year journey of VNA (September 15, 1945 - September 15, 2023), General Secretary Alberto Anaya Guitiérrez affirmed that VNA's information products are increasingly high-quality and diverse, always keeping abreast of the development of science and technology as well as the rapid changes in the world situation. Appreciating the external information work of VNA, General Secretary Guitiérrez emphasized that in addition to its orientation function, VNA's information content is also highly global, thereby bringing to readers around the world an image of a Vietnam full of inner strength but also very attractive. According to him, based on the close relationship between the Mexican Labor Party and the Communist Party of Vietnam, as well as between the Mexican Labor Party and VNA, the Mexican Labor Party wishes to continue to accompany and coordinate with VNA in information and propaganda work for the benefit of the two countries. Expressing gratitude for the sentiments and valuable support that the Mexican Labor Party has given to the Vietnamese people in general and VNA in particular, former VNA Director General Tran Mai Huong pointed out that the two countries established diplomatic relations at a time when Vietnam had just emerged from the long war for independence and was in the process of national reconstruction. During those historic moments, millions of justice and peace lovers around the world, including the Mexican people, supported the just struggle of the Vietnamese people. Vietnam will forever remember this valuable support from the Mexican Government and people.
Referring to the role of the Vietnamese revolutionary press in the new period, Mr. Tran Mai Huong affirmed that in the period when Vietnam is integrating more and more deeply, along with the impact of the 4th industrial revolution, the Vietnamese press is not only a tool to propagate the Party and State's guidelines and policies, helping to orient public opinion, but also plays an important role as a forum for people to express their thoughts and aspirations on social issues. At the meeting, former General Director of VNA Tran Mai Huong also congratulated the Mexican Workers' Party after its historic victory in the general election on June 2 as a party in the ruling coalition, receiving strong support from Mexican voters through the number of votes for PT members to parliament. Accordingly, the number of PT seats in the House of Representatives increased from 30 to 50 seats, while the number of seats in the Senate also increased from 6 to 10 seats. Mr. Alberto Anaya himself was elected to the Senate for the next term. Also within the framework of the visit and work in Mexico, the delegation also visited Emiliano Zapata University and the Cendi preschool system - educational facilities built by the Mexican Labor Party in Monterrey city. Here, the delegation worked with PT Politburo member Lupita Rodriguez and Mr. Ruben Zardoya Lourdes - Director of Emiliano Zapata University. Before that, the delegation visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Mexico, laid flowers at the Ho Chi Minh Monument in the Freedom Park of the Peoples in the center of Mexico City. Built in 2009, based on a photo taken by artist Dinh Dang Dinh when he was working in the garden of the Presidential Palace, the Ho Chi Minh Monument is a symbol of the friendship and solidarity between the two peoples of Vietnam and Mexico.
