The whole family of Ms. Cathy Cauchy (56 years old, French nationality) is eager to find the biological mother of her Vietnamese son whom she adopted 13 years ago.
Her adopted son, Matis Ding Dong Cauchy (18 years old), is a French- Vietnamese man with an unquenchable desire to know his roots and origins.
Mom go find… mom for me!
It all started on the fateful day of March 30, 2010, when the life of a Vietnamese boy named Nguyen Dinh Dong (5 years old) officially changed when he was adopted by a kind-hearted French couple, Mrs. Cathy Cauchy and her husband.
Cathy's whole family hopes to find the biological mother of their adopted Vietnamese child.
FAMILY PROVIDERS
At that time, although they already had two biological children, 13 and 15 years old, they still decided to adopt a Vietnamese child because they loved children and wanted to be parents to another child.
From here, the boy who was abandoned by his biological mother at birth lived in the boundless love of his French adoptive parents and siblings in the port city of Marseille, southern France. He was given a new French name, but his adoptive parents still kept a bit of his Vietnamese “roots”: Matis Ding Dong Cauchy.
According to the documents kept by Ms. Cathy, Matis (or Nguyen Dinh Dong) was born at 0:30 on February 4, 2005 at Ham Tan District Medical Center, at the time located at 4 Nguyen Hue - Tan An (Binh Thuan). The mother gave her name as Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, residing in Ward 2, Lagi Town.
At the age of 5, Matis was adopted and lived a new life in France.
FAMILY PROVIDERS
The baby boy cried out at birth, weighing 4.2 kg and was declared by his mother to be the fourth child in the family. On February 17, 2005, Dinh Dong was admitted to the Tan An Orphanage, part of the Binh Thuan Province Social Protection Center (now the Binh Thuan Province Comprehensive Social Protection Center).
Despite having a beautiful life in France, Matis said that he still has a lot of worries and questions about his origins. He hopes to have all the questions answered: "Who am I?", "Who are my biological parents?", "Why did they abandon me?", "Are they still healthy?", "Do they still remember me?"... then he can breathe a sigh of relief, as if a heavy stone has been lifted from his mind all these years.
Knowing her son's wish, Mrs. Cathy not only did not object, but on the contrary, wholeheartedly supported her son in finding his roots. Because the mother knew that it was difficult for someone to live without knowing anything about where they were born, about the person who carried them. From then on, she did everything she could to find her son's biological mother.
Special "homecoming"
That is also the reason why recently, Cathy's entire family, except for her daughter who just gave birth, made a special trip to Vietnam. They spent 15 days straight exploring Matis' homeland.
"The most special thing was that Matis found the nanny who took care of him years ago and they had a very emotional reunion. Matis spent a day with her. Witnessing that moment, not only Matis but everyone in my family felt wonderful," the French mother recounted.
According to Ms. Cathy, during that trip to Vietnam, her family also had the opportunity to explore many provinces and cities in northern Vietnam. They were impressed by the nature, the country, and the people. Mr. Matis said that he felt at home, but felt "uncomfortable" not being able to communicate with many Vietnamese people.
The French man did not give up on his journey to find his roots.
FAMILY PROVIDERS
Despite efforts to find Matis' biological mother and family, through social media and his return to Vietnam, there has been no news, but the Frenchman said he has never given up. The journey will continue until there are results.
"Thank you for giving birth to Matis!"
Matis said he is currently studying sign making and graphic arts in addition to working for a company in the same field. The Frenchman will be at the company for a week, then go to school for a week. He said he will try to develop his work further in the future.
Talking about her son, Mrs. Cathy commented that Matis is a sensitive, studious young man, a hard-working person. In particular, he is very attached to his family, loves his brother and sister. The only flaw in Matis' soul is the pain of finding his biological family to have inner peace.
Mrs. Cathy commented that her son is emotional and close to everyone in the family.
FAMILY PROVIDERS
The French adoptive mother had a few words to say to Matis' biological mother: "I thank you for giving birth to Matis. Don't worry, Matis is very happy, and we love him with all our hearts. I know that there must be a reason, a difficulty, for you to not be able to continue raising him."
Thanks Uyen!
Besides, Ms. Cathy also expressed her emotion and gratitude when she received help from Ms. Nguyen Hai Uyen, a kind Vietnamese person living and working in Ho Chi Minh City.
Accordingly, Ms. Uyen has supported the family in searching for news about Matis's biological mother through social networks. Despite great efforts, there is still no news. Anyone with information about Matis's biological mother, please contact Ms. Uyen at the phone number: 033.766.1081. The family is extremely grateful!
