On November 1, female student Le Ngoc Tram Tram posted on her personal Facebook about her family's difficult situation, her mother had an accident and had to be hospitalized, hoping for everyone's help.

“Due to the recent impact of storm No. 6 (Trami), my house was severely flooded. When the water rose, while my father was moving things up higher, my mother was crushed by the collapsed floor. My mother suffered two broken pelvises, a dislocated pelvis, three broken ribs, and pleural effusion. After being taken to the emergency room at Le Thuy District General Hospital, my mother was transferred to Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital for treatment.

My parents are both farmers, have 4 children, 3 of them are currently studying at university, the last one is in 11th grade. My family is poor but the cost of hospitalization and treatment is huge. I am writing this article to call for help from brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, and benefactors so that my mother can have timely surgery and overcome this disaster" - Tram's post on her personal Facebook page touched everyone.

The ground-floor house of female student Le Ngoc Tram's family is located in a low-lying area in An Thuy commune.

Tram said her father has a spinal disease, so her mother is the main breadwinner. Every day, he helps his wife sell breakfast in front of the kindergarten, earning just enough to pay for her children's education. Tram's older sister is currently a third-year student at Duy Tan University (Da Nang) and has long been earning her own money to pay for her living and education.

Mr. Le Van Quyet, Chairman of the People's Committee of An Thuy commune, confirmed that Ms. Lam had an accident on October 29, at a time when flood water in the locality was still quite high, in some places up to 1.7-1.8 m deep.

“The floor in the house collapsed and crushed Ms. Lam. Upon receiving the news, the commune’s forces sent a boat to transport the victim to Le Thuy District General Hospital for emergency treatment,” Mr. Quyet added.

According to Mr. Quyet, in addition to selling breakfast, Mrs. Lam and her husband also take care of a cluster of kindergartens in Thach Ban village to earn extra income to support their children's education. Their family lives in a level 4 house built a long time ago in a low-lying area.

Tram said that her mother is expected to undergo surgery in a few days. So far, in addition to the support and help from lecturers and students of the University of Education - Hue University, after writing her story on Facebook, Tram also received about 3 million VND from many people sending and sharing. Some relatives and neighbors in the countryside also lent Tram's family money to pay for Mrs. Lam's treatment.
