Recently, social networks suddenly spread a clip and images about a contest called Miss Intelligence Vietnam 2023.
In the 1 minute 30 second clip, the stage is organized like a beauty contest with the background displaying the words "MIQVN 2023 - Miss Intelligence Vietnam 2023".
Contestants performed in white ao dai and conical hats, with the judges also present.
Miss Intelligence Vietnam 2023 is actually just a skit of an MC contest, not a beauty contest.
Responding to this information, Ms. Nguyen Khanh Ly (President of the Student Union - Faculty of Journalism and Communication Student Union - Head of the Organizing Committee) said that this was just a skit to support the presentation for the contestants at the final round of the Micro Flying - Humanistic MC Face contest, on the evening of May 20.
The skit "MIQVN 2023 - Miss Intelligence Vietnam 2023" sets up a hypothetical situation about an unlicensed beauty contest. Inspectors from the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City arrive and demand that the contest be stopped while the final round is taking place.
After that, 4 MC contestants will step onto the stage to exploit the characters at the scene, provide information about the event taking place, and then have an additional 1 minute and 30 seconds to present the show.
“The skit also exploits meaningful humanistic elements, the contestants’ perspectives open up in many dimensions. The skit is designed to be humorous to make the audience laugh, not to bore the audience,” said the head of the contest’s organizing committee.
As a member of the jury at the competition, MC Thanh Thanh Huyen said that this skit received much attention from the audience present in the hall during the final night.
"I am very impressed and appreciate your situational awareness and quickness, including those who have never stood on stage as MCs," said the female MC.
Meanwhile, MC Tan Tai also highly appreciated the MC competition for students, but it was organized on a large scale and in a professional manner.
He said that the fact that the contest was shared and spread so widely was a testament to the students' acumen.

The Flying Microphone Contest - Humanity MC Face 2023 is organized by the Youth Union - Student Association of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Ho Chi Minh City National University).
The contestants compete in three rounds to win the highest position. In the interesting part, the contestants observe a situation simulating current social issues such as: profiteering, fraud, superstition; organizing unapproved beauty contests. From there, the contestants play the role of MCs leading the story scene.
The final night of May 20th found the winner was contestant Trieu Gia Uyen. Contestant Dang Khoa won the runner-up position.
The judges of the contest include Mr. Tu Luong - Director of Vietnam Television Center in Ho Chi Minh City, editor Thuy Hang, MC Tan Tai, MC Thanh Thanh Huyen and MC Phung Yen.
