Recently, MC Bich Hong - collaborating with SCTV - used social media to express her "unhappy, very annoyed" attitude because the parade in Ho Chi Minh City made her come home late. This MC also emphasized her statement "as someone born and raised in Saigon", causing public outrage. In response to the controversy, SCTV announced that it would stop collaborating with Bich Hong. Before Bich Hong, many TV MCs had made "slip of the tongue" statements, causing controversy. In September 2022, MC Quynh Hoa of Vietnam Television wrote "it's been a long time since we've had a real storm" on Facebook, and was considered insensitive to the pain of the people in the Central region who were suffering from storm Noru. In August 2020, anchor Nguyen Anh Quang compared street vendors to "parasites" in the "Financial and Business News" broadcast on VTV1. After this incident, VTV had to apologize to street vendors and viewers for "serious operational errors". In August 2020, MC Truong Viet Phong - former VTV and HTV editor - expressed his opinion that letting a transgender person sit in the commentator's chair on a TV show to help women find ways to conquer men and keep the fire of love burning was "inappropriate and beyond limits", which was considered to be disparaging to singer and beauty queen Huong Giang - who was then very popular on the show "Who is that person". In December 2019, BTV Quoc Khanh used player Bui Tien Dung's mistake to make a joke on TV, was criticized for being tactless and had to apologize. In July 2019, MC Minh Hang of the show "Happy Lunch" called singer Jack (now J97) and producer K-ICM "rare animals that need to be preserved". In May 2015, Editor Phuong Thao commented: "This is truly an impressive number" when talking about the horrifying numbers in the earthquake in Nepal. In 2011, BTV Le Binh (now retired from VTV) said "These crazy people" on live television due to technical problems, becoming the most notable "slip of the tongue" in television history.
