Today (December 25), Russian press quoted information from Kazakhstan's Ministry of Emergency Situations confirming that a passenger plane of Azerbaijan Airlines crashed near the city of Aktau in this country.

The Azerbaijan Airlines passenger plane was flying from Baku to Grozny in Russia's Chechnya region when it was diverted due to fog in Grozny, Kazakhstan's Emergency Situations Ministry said.
Initial information is said to indicate there are survivors, according to Kazakhstan's Emergencies Ministry.
It is unclear what caused the plane crash, or how many survivors there were.
Firefighters were trying to extinguish the fire at the crash site, an official source from the ministry said.
There is no information about the incident from Azerbaijan Airlines.
Kazakhstan media reported that the plane was carrying 105 passengers and five crew members.
As of now, Kazakhstan officials say there are 6 survivors. Rescue and firefighting work continues.
Azerbaijan Airlines confirmed the crash, saying there were 72 people on board at the time of the crash.
