A conflict over picking up money, a Thanh Hoa male student knocked out his friend in the schoolyard.

TPO – Due to a conflict over picking up 10,000 VND, a male student in Thanh Hoa beat and injured his friend right in the schoolyard.

On December 20, Thanh Hoa City Police said they had summoned VTM (born 2008), residing in Xuan Giang Commune, Tho Xuan District, to clarify the act of beating his classmate, VVT (born 2009), 10th grade student at Thanh Hoa Industrial College.

At the police station, VTM confessed that at around 2:00 p.m. on December 17, M. picked up a 10,000 VND bill that VVT dropped in class.

After learning that M. had picked up the money, VVT asked for it back, but M. did not return it. At this point, a conflict arose between the two sides, with both sides cursing at each other. Then T. snatched the money back from M.'s hand. At 5:00 p.m. the same day, after school, M. saw T. walking with his friends in the schoolyard. Out of anger over what had happened earlier, he attacked T. with his hands and feet, causing injuries.

Previously, Tien Phong newspaper reported that on social networks, an article with a clip was circulated with the content "Thanh Hoa Industrial College, just because of an eye irritation, a male student physically attacked a classmate on the way home from school". The clip caused public outrage, many people said that the act of beating a classmate is school violence, and needs to be strictly handled as a deterrent.

Immediately after receiving the information, the Criminal Police Department of Thanh Hoa City Police and Dong Cuong Ward Police mobilized forces and urgently coordinated with related units to verify the incident. The school also confirmed the incident and said that it had invited the parents of the two students to work.
