The Ministry of Education and Training said that this year, the high school graduation exam form will change. It is known that in the past, when the university entrance exam was organized in clusters, the candidate's registration number included both letters and numbers. However, recently, the registration number only has the number part, but the exam paper still has the note "Candidates must write both letters and numbers". According to the Department of Education and Training, this has caused confusion for many candidates.
Mr. Huynh Van Chuong, Director of the Department of Quality Management (Ministry of Education and Training), said that from this year's exam, the Ministry will revise the essay test paper format in the high school graduation exam.
According to Mr. Chuong, following the request of the Department of Education and Training to avoid confusion for candidates, the Ministry issued a new essay test form, removing the note "candidates must write both letters and numbers". Candidates only need to write their correct registration number.

For the multiple-choice answer sheet, the Ministry of Education and Training keeps the old form. The Ministry of Education and Training instructs that with the multiple-choice answer sheet, candidates need to keep the sheet flat, not dirty, not wrinkled or torn; fill in all items from 1 to 8 clearly and completely. The registration number listed in item 7 is the last 6 digits.
In sections 7 and 8, in addition to writing numbers in the blank boxes, candidates must fill in the circles in the number table below corresponding to the written numbers.
In the answer section, the order of the answer options (A, B, C, D) corresponds to the order of the multiple choice questions in the exam. For each multiple choice question, the candidate selects and fills in a circle corresponding to the answer option that the candidate thinks is correct.
The 2024 high school graduation exam will be held on June 26, 27, 28, and 29 with 4 exams, including Math, Literature, English, and a combination exam (Natural Science or Social Science). All subjects are multiple choice, except Literature, which is in essay form. On June 26, candidates will complete the exam registration procedures. On June 27 and 28, candidates will take the high school graduation exam. June 29 will be the backup exam date.
The announcement of the high school graduation exam results is expected to be at 8:00 a.m. on July 17. After that, localities will conduct graduation exams for students taking the exam and use the graduation exam results to consider university and college admissions according to the enrollment plan.
According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, this year, 1,067,391 candidates registered for the exam on the system (1,024,063 in 2023). Of which, 45,344 candidates registered for the exam independently (37,841 in 2023).
In 2023, out of about one million candidates, 98.88% passed, the highest rate since 2015. Of these, more than 546,000 students registered for university admission.
