* The Secret Service has admitted failing to conduct a pre-screening of the site of the September 15 assassination attempt on Mr. Trump at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, an admission that puts the already-burdened agency back in the spotlight just two months after a similar incident in Pennsylvania.
According to the New York Times , the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said that the assassination suspect had been near the golf course unhindered for nearly 12 hours before the shooting.
* Trump assassination attempt : Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump blamed the statements of US President Joe Biden and opponent Kamala Harris for the failed assassination attempt on September 15 in Florida.
However, President Biden declared: "I have always condemned political violence. I always will," and said that American voters resolve their differences "peacefully at the ballot box, not at the barrel of a gun." (Reuters, AFP)

* Russia has increased the size of its army to more than 2.3 million people, including 1.5 million servicemen, since the beginning of December.
