Imbued with Uncle Ho's teaching "Emulation is patriotism, patriotism requires emulation and those who emulate are the most patriotic", in recent years, the Fatherland Front (VFF) at all levels of Giao Thuy district has organized, launched, propagated and mobilized people to carry out patriotic emulation movements in all areas of social life with many innovations, bringing practical results, contributing to the successful implementation of socio-economic development targets and tasks, ensuring national defense and security.

The Fatherland Front at all levels in the district has organized many rich and diverse emulation movements that have been actively responded to and participated in by all classes of people. Notable movements are: "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas (NTM)"; "The whole country joins hands for the poor, leaving no one behind" associated with the campaign "The whole people unite to build NTM, civilized urban areas". In particular, the campaign "The whole people unite to build NTM, civilized urban areas" has been widely deployed by the Fatherland Front at all levels to residential areas in the whole district with 5 contents and specific criteria to strongly arouse the spirit of solidarity to help each other reduce poverty, strive to become rich legitimately of all classes of people such as: helping each other with capital, materials, seedlings, production experience, acquiring scientific and technical advances to transform production structure, crop and livestock structure, expanding occupations, solving employment; help each other with materials and labor days to, together with other State resources, support the poor to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. The Women's Union, Farmers' Association, Youth Union, and Veterans' Association of the district have had many practical and effective activities to help the poor; organize vocational training classes, introduce jobs; stand as a credit guarantee with banks to support union members and members to borrow preferential loans for economic development... Typically, the Farmers' Associations at all levels in the district promote the emulation movement of good production and business, help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably, assign rich households and branches to help poor households escape poverty; give breeding pigs to poor member families; mobilize members to actively build large-scale commodity production areas and build large fields. The Women's Associations at all levels regularly review the number of poor households, develop plans to help in all aspects such as building new and repairing "Warm Houses of Love" houses; support capital and knowledge to start a business and produce and do business effectively; Visiting and encouraging in times of illness, misfortune, and sudden difficulties; giving gifts to poor students with good academic performance. Trade unions at all levels in the district maintain activities of visiting and presenting hundreds of gifts to workers, civil servants, and children of workers and civil servants in difficult circumstances on the occasion of Lunar New Year, Workers' Month, Mid-Autumn Festival... The District Veterans Association promotes the emulation movement to help each other develop production and do business, focusing on helping policy beneficiaries, veteran members, and former soldiers facing difficulties in life. Implementing the social security program and taking care of the poor during Tet, the Fatherland Front at all levels in the district also coordinates with member organizations, mobilizing businesses to practically care for and ensure the lives of policy beneficiaries, people with meritorious services, social welfare beneficiaries, and the poor... with tens of thousands of gifts each Lunar New Year, contributing significantly to the district's sustainable poverty reduction process.

In addition, the Fatherland Front and its member organizations, especially political and social organizations at all levels in the district, have promoted their role in propagating and mobilizing people to contribute and mobilize all resources to maintain and improve the quality of the criteria for building advanced and exemplary new rural areas. In particular, the Fatherland Front and organizations have united the people to focus on the criteria for building a "bright - green - clean - beautiful" environmental landscape. The District Farmers' Association organized training for 150 farmer members of Giao Chau commune on techniques for classifying and treating organic waste for household fertilizer; directed 100% of the branches to have at least one specific task to participate in building advanced and exemplary new rural areas. Up to now, most of the branches have invested in building models of pesticide packaging tanks in the fields, received self-managed roads, ensured environmental sanitation, planted flowers and trees to create a green - clean - beautiful landscape. Giao Phong Commune Farmers' Association coordinated with organizations to plant 1,500 casuarina trees with a total length of 2.4km. The District Women's Union directed 100% of its branches to take care of and plant new flower roads; implemented the project "model green - clean - beautiful roads managed by women", up to now, nearly 130 roads managed by women have been marked. The District Youth Union directed the Youth Union bases to regularly clean up the environment with the participation of thousands of members; organized garbage collection on the coast. Responding to the Program of planting 1 billion green trees launched by the Prime Minister, the delegations of communes and towns planted nearly 6,500 acacia, dracontomelon, bodhi trees, etc.

By promoting the patriotic emulation movement, the Fatherland Front and organizations in Giao Thuy district have contributed to improving the material and spiritual life of the people. The rural appearance has changed a lot; the rural traffic system, intra-field traffic, cultural houses, schools, and medical stations have been invested in and upgraded; environmental protection and people's health care have been carried out regularly... Up to now, the whole district has 17 communes meeting the advanced NTM standards, 3 communes meeting the model NTM standards.
