In addition to the packed stands, hundreds of thousands of people and tourists gathered on central streets, along the riverbanks and on bridges across the Han River to witness the eye-catching competition between the two former champions Australia and Italy.
The land of kangaroos Australia took the audience on a train of emotions. With the vibrant dance music, the Australian team made the audience constantly sway and excited with the perfect combination of music and fireworks.
The “secret weapon” that the Australian team brought this year was the fireworks with unique lighting effects, so beautiful it was surreal. However, the Australian team’s performance also had moments of silence that moved the audience. With the music of Mad World and Survivor, the team used fireworks to describe the ups and downs of modern Australia: from the catastrophic bushfires in early 2020 to the challenges of the pandemic. Then the entire DIFF audience cheered when admiring the giant and rapid fireworks from the “land of kangaroos”.
Meanwhile, the team from the “boot-shaped country” Italy brought a more “academic” performance. The former champion, who won the championship in 2017 and 2018, brought to Da Nang this year a performance called “Ancient space and modern light”, inspired by the artistic masterpiece “Ambiente spaziale a luce nerea” by Italian artist Lucio Fontana.
The Italian team lit up the Da Nang night sky with a dazzling fireworks display set to a modern-classical soundtrack. “We tried to create a bridge connecting different musical styles and ages through rhythmic fireworks,” said a representative of the Italian team.
The audience was able to admire the captivating light language of the Italian team. With their exquisite performance techniques, the Italian team “painted” immortal symphonies on the sky of Da Nang with light. The graceful and delicate fireworks effects on the background of classical music such as Beethoven’s “Fate” Symphony made the audience unable to take their eyes off.
The third competition night of DIFF was successful not only because of the eye-catching and ear-pleasing fireworks displays, but also because of the artistic stage with unique and attractive performances.
On the stage of over 1,000 m2 with many effects such as laser and water music, visitors were able to "spread their wings" to their dreams through inspirational songs such as "Welcoming the Dawn", "A Thousand Vietnamese Dreams", "My Road", "My Dreams - My Future"... The heroic melodies and the layered performances of artists from Trung Vuong Theater inspired, motivated and created faith in life for the audience.
Not only that, visitors can also relax and wander in Italy through the love song “Vivo per lei” performed by singer Ottaviano Natalia Maricel and the Ba Na Hills dance troupe. Recreated by singer Lovillo Ignacio, the immortal song associated with the name of legendary artist John Lennon - Imagine was also “revived” on the DIFF stage. The lyrics direct listeners to a peaceful world, without material things, without borders.
With the theme “World without distance”, DIFF 2023, sponsored and organized by Sun Group, continues the story of a vibrant, youthful, and dynamic Da Nang - a “City of Asia's leading festivals” that is aiming to become the world's event-festival destination.
The fourth competition night will be performed on June 24 with the theme “Dance of Nature”, with the participation of two teams from Poland and England, broadcast live on Danang TV1, Danang Radio and Television at 8:00 p.m.
