On March 2, the Clipper race round the world yacht race was restarted, the 2023-2024 season started from the World Heritage - Natural Wonder of Ha Long Bay, Quang Ninh (Vietnam) to Zhuhai, Guangdong (China).

The restart ceremony of the Clipper Race round the world yacht race 2023 - 2024 took place in a vibrant atmosphere with paragliding performances, dragon and lion dances, luxury yacht parades on Ha Long Bay and the warm hospitality of Quang Ninh province right at Ha Long International Passenger Port, attracting the participation of many locals and international tourists.

After the parade, at 5:00 p.m. the same day, the 8th race, the 5th leg of the Clipper Race round the world yacht race season 2023 - 2024 officially began on the journey to Jiuzhou port (Zhuhai City, China).

The 2023 - 2024 Clipper Race Round the World Yacht Race will feature nearly 400 sailors on 11 yachts, divided into 8 legs with 16 individual races and 6 ocean crossings.

In the 2023 - 2024 season, 11 participating racing teams went on a 25-day voyage over a distance of 4,515 nautical miles. By the end of February 19, all 11 participating racing teams had completed race 7, stage 5 (2 days ahead of schedule). The Ha Long Bay Viet Nam racing team finished 5th and is currently ranked 6th in the overall rankings.

After docking at Ha Long International Passenger Port (Bai Chay Ward, Ha Long City), the crew members had 2 weeks of rest and participated in a series of activities to experience, promote destinations and attend tourism promotion events organized by Quang Ninh province.

The Clipper Race was first held in October 1996 in Plymouth, England. To date, the race has hosted more than 50 cities around the world.
