Women "broke their pockets" because of early-season plums, even though the price is high, they still rush to buy them. Nearly 1 ton of Son La plums has been sold on Shopee.

Off-season plums are available from September and October of the lunar calendar. At that time, the amount of imported plums is very small, and the price is also much higher. However, some customers are still willing to spend money, they still buy kilos to eat. At this time, the number of VIP plums is larger, so there is no fear of shortages to return orders to customers. The price is much cheaper than before Tet, and the number of customers buying is also larger.

Vip type is being sold at 250-270,000 VND/kg

Ms. Van (who has a fruit shop at Mai Dich market, Hanoi) said that off-season plums are mainly imported from Son La, because of the small quantity, they are often sold at prices many times higher than the main season plums. According to Ms. Tam, the post-season plums are quite delicious at this time, the plums are large, crispy and flavorful, the price is much cheaper than before Tet, and the number of customers is also higher.

While chatting, Ms. Tam quickly sorted the plums. She said that small fruits or those with unattractive appearance will have the lowest price of only a few tens of thousands of VND/kg. Large, even fruits with attractive appearance will have a selling price ranging from 100 - 120 thousand VND/kg. Vip fruits are "huge" sized fruits, only more than 20 fruits per kg, and will be sold at the highest price. At this time, Vip fruits are being sold for 250-270,000 VND/kg. Before Tet, this type was sold for up to 350,000 VND/kg.

Ms. Tam added that she only sells to wholesale customers and packs them up to ship. She refuses all retail customers. Each of her customers takes a few dozen kilos per day. Customers who order late will have to wait until the next day.

Son La is a famous locality for growing plums, with an area of over 11,730 hectares.

Answering questions about the price of off-season plums, Ms. Tam explained that in the past, people in Moc Chau, Son La province did not care about off-season plums, but in recent years, off-season plums have been sought after and ordered a lot by people in the lowlands. Since then, traders have started to buy plums from people to bring to the lowland provinces to sell. In addition, people have learned how to cultivate off-season plums, so the quantity is greater than before, the fruit is big, and the quality is only slightly worse than in the main season.

Son La is a famous plum growing area, with an area of over 11,730 hectares. During this time, the harvest of off-season plums from each garden is about a few dozen kilograms to a quintal per day. Although the selling price is very high, according to many traders, due to high demand from consumers, the goods are sold out as soon as they arrive, and there is not even enough to pay for customers.

Not only sold at traditional markets, off-season plums are also being sold a lot on online market forums at a price of 200,000 - 250,000 VND/kg.

Ms. Minh Ngoc (office worker, Bac Tu Liem district, Hanoi) shared: "Seeing an account selling off-season plums, my colleagues and I bought 1kg to try. The price of plums is quite high, we only dared to buy a little to enjoy. The taste of off-season plums is not as sweet as the main season plums, they are astringent and crunchy, but we still bought them to satisfy our cravings."

For the convenience of customers, plums are often divided into sets. Each set will include 300 - 500 grams of plums with salt, some customers take several sets at a time.
