Which coach is the best?
There are a total of 3 Japanese and 3 Korean coaches in charge of the AFF Cup 2024. The Japanese coaches at this year's tournament are Masatada Ishii (Thailand), Tsutomu Ogura (Singapore) and Koji Gyotoku (Cambodia). The Korean coaches include Kim Sang-sik (Vietnam), Shin Tae-yong (Indonesia) and Ha Hyeok-jun (Laos).

The fact that many Southeast Asian teams are now employing Japanese and Korean coaches reflects a prevailing trend. Japanese and Korean coaches have the advantage of coming from countries that are geographically close to Southeast Asia and have similar cultures. There are 2 Japanese coaches and 1 Korean coach who reached the semi-finals of this tournament, namely Mr. Masatada Ishii of the Thai team, Mr. Tsutomu Ogura of the Singapore team and Mr. Kim Sang-sik of the Vietnamese team. Then, in the final match, Mr. Masatada Ishii and Mr. Kim Sang-sik were the ones who directly competed for the championship, on the 2 fronts of the Thai and Vietnamese teams.
