Participating in the program Vietnamese Family Home, rapper Dinh Tien Dat and actress Kha Ngan were moved when witnessing the situation of orphaned children. The two guests contributed to bringing home a total prize of 95 million VND for the orphaned children.
Episode 115 of the program Vietnamese Family Home featured two guests, rapper Dinh Tien Dat and actress Kha Ngan. The artists joined hands to overcome difficult challenges to bring home valuable prizes to help three orphaned children: Nguyen Ha Vuong (13 years old), Dau Thi Ngoc Nhu (16 years old) and Y Lanh (14 years old).
Among them, the situation of Nguyen Ha Vuong made many people unable to hold back their tears. Ha Vuong is 13 years old this year, a student at Tran Hung Dao Secondary School, Buon Don District, Dak Lak Province. His father died in a traffic accident when he was still in his mother's womb. The irony of fate did not stop when his mother also left shortly after giving birth to him. The paper of abandonment left behind with the helpless child who did not understand anything made everyone feel sorry.
Ha Vuong has an older brother, Nguyen Ha Vinh, 15 years old. Lacking the love of both parents, Ha Vinh and Ha Vuong grew up under the care and protection of their aunt. Every time he remembers the note from his biological mother, Ha Vuong feels very sad and hurt. He wishes his father was still alive, and that his mother had not left him so that he could have a happy family.
Ha Vuong's aunt, Nguyen Thi Phuong (1970), emotionally said: "He lost his father, his mother also left him, but they still put him in an orphanage, separating him and his brother, it's a pity for him. I also thought a lot, because at that time my husband had an accident and lost his memory, my child was sick, but because I loved him, I couldn't bear to let him go. I took him in and raised him, eating vegetables and porridge until now."
Ms. Phuong’s health is not good, she has osteoarthritis and often has body aches, so she only stays at home to grow guava and raise goats on her husband’s land. Every week she sells 30kg of guava, at a good price of 7,000 VND/kg. This small amount of money is basically not enough to cover her daily living expenses.
Feeling sorry for his aunt's hardship, Ha Vinh, who was in 10th grade, dropped out of school to work and earn money to take care of his younger brother and help his aunt's family. Ha Vinh works on the farm with his cousin in Quang Nam so he rarely comes home to visit. His cousin (Ms. Phuong's son) is also suffering from meningitis and has to go to the doctor regularly.
Witnessing what Ha Vuong went through, many people expressed their sadness and anger at the mother’s actions. Artists believe that, no matter what the reason, a mother should not be allowed to write a letter to her child like that.
Rapper Dinh Tien Dat could not help but burst into tears because of emotion. The male rapper hugged Ha Vuong and gave many words of encouragement to the character's family. He also hoped that when Ha Vuong's mother watches the program and knows about her children's situation, she will quickly return to make up for the hardships the children have experienced.
Actress Kha Ngan could not hide her emotion. She tearfully said: “Thank you for not separating the two Ha Vuong brothers but raising them both. Knowing that you also had a hard time, and were the only one to support the whole family, you still helped the two children like this, showing your great love and determination.
As for Ha Vuong, I never imagined what it would be like for a child to read a letter written by his mother to abandon him. I hope he won't give up, will try his best because I know that only by studying can he have a better life. As for Vuong's older brother, he had to drop out of school to work at the age of 15. I feel so sorry for Ha Vuong when I see his situation like that."
Ms. Phuong also wanted to send a message to Ha Vuong's mother to come back and take her child back, and not leave her children alone. Because every time she saw Ha Vuong feeling sad because his friends had their parents by their side while she still had her mother but had never been loved by her, Ms. Phuong felt very heartbroken. She was also very worried because her health was getting worse, she was afraid that her grandchildren would have no one to take care of them if she passed away. The loving message from the aunt to her grandchildren moved many people.
Another equally pitiful case in the program is Dau Thi Ngoc Nhu , 16 years old, living in Dak Mil district, Dak Nong province. Since childhood, Ngoc Nhu did not know who her father was. When she was 1 year old, her mother also suddenly passed away due to a drowning accident. In 2017, she once again experienced the pain of losing a loved one when her grandfather died of diabetes. Currently, Ngoc Nhu's only support is her grandmother.
Her grandmother, Mrs. Mai Thi Nu, 59 years old, is in poor health due to heart anemia, gastritis and spinal degeneration. Mrs. Nu is unable to work and has to go to Ho Chi Minh City every month for medical treatment, which is extremely expensive. Ngoc Nhu herself has a blood clotting disorder and at many stages has had to undergo plasma transfusions for 3 consecutive months. Occasionally, she still has to be hospitalized for treatment.
Kha Ngan also expressed sympathy for Dau Thi Ngoc Nhu's situation because the actress also grew up in the love and care of her grandmother. She understood that her grandmother's love for her grandchild was great. The actress understood the worries of grandmothers when their health deteriorates and they worry that their grandchildren will have no one to take care of them. After speaking for a while, Kha Ngan burst into tears because she did not know why there were so many difficult situations in life.
The remaining situation is Y Lanh , 14 years old, living with her mother and 2 siblings in Dak Bla district, Kon Tum province. Y Lanh's father died 8 years ago due to a traffic accident. Her mother has not been lucid since childhood, and in 2020, she also lost her hearing and no one would hire her. The mother and her 4 children live on the orphanage allowance of more than 1 million VND/month from Y Lanh's 3 sisters.
After school hours, she and her mother go to collect firewood to exchange for rice or pick cassava leaves to eat with rice. The house they live in is also a charity house that was built a long time ago. The clothes they wear are all old clothes that people give or pick up. Because their mother is not clear-headed, Y Lanh is the oldest of the three sisters, so she soon realized her responsibilities. She considers herself the pillar of the family, which makes viewers emotional. Watching the clip introducing their family situation, the three Y Lanh sisters burst into tears because they missed their father. The artists and audience at the scene could not control their emotions and cried along.
Actress Kha Ngan choked up and shared: “When I heard Y Lanh say that she was the pillar of the family, I was very touched. I myself understand that the word pillar is very heavy, because I am too. I know that I am luckier than many people, but when I have the responsibility of being the pillar on my shoulders, it is terribly heavy. I also understand why the child wishes for her father to come back to life, I think that having a man in the family will make the family feel more secure and stable. I myself am the same, so I understand what the children want.”
Rapper Dinh Tien Dat also could not hold back his emotions. His eyes were red with pity for what the children in the program had gone through. “I dare not imagine that there are many more difficult situations like this in life. If you ask me to imagine or think about what I would do, I still do not know what I would do to improve in this situation. I can only advise the children to try to study hard, do not give up so that they can have a better future,” the rapper emotionally said. He and actress Kha Ngan promised to do their best in the program's challenges to bring many valuable prizes to the orphans.
Coming to the challenges, within 1 minute of the sub-competition, rapper Dinh Tien Dat and actress Kha Ngan had to complete the challenge of “hammering nails into a wooden board”. The two guests had to hammer 20 nails into the board to give priority to the families. Upon receiving the challenge, Kha Ngan was worried because she had to hammer too many nails while the time was too short.
Rapper Dinh Tien Dat also said that having to hammer each nail in less than 10 seconds was a difficult challenge for him, let alone Kha Ngan. With the support of the male rapper, both guests quickly completed the challenge. In the main competition, Dinh Tien Dat and Kha Ngan took turns working with children to overcome the "throwing shuttlecock" challenge. Accordingly, players will create handmade "cones" with scraps of fabric and then move the cones through obstacles and throw them into the circles at the finish line.
To quickly complete the challenge, the two artists proposed a plan to make 5 “cocktails” first before starting to move over the obstacles. Next, one person would be tasked with manually making the remaining 5 “cocktails”, while the other two would “throw the cocktails”. Running continuously for 3 rounds to support all 3 families gradually exhausted Dinh Tien Dat and Kha Ngan. However, because of the clear strategy, they saved a lot of time, and all 10 “cocktails” were thrown into the ring quickly.
After the rounds, Nguyen Ha Vuong 's family received a prize of 15 million VND. Y Lanh 's family came in second, receiving 20 million VND. Dau Thi Ngoc Nhu 's family continued to enter the special round, winning 2 logo boards with a prize of 60 million VND.
In addition, the artists participating in the program donated 45 million VND to the families. In addition, Mr. Le Phuoc Vu - Chairman of Hoa Sen Group donated an additional 10 million VND to each family. The sponsors and local people who came to watch joined hands to donate and directly give the families a total of more than 82 million VND.
Rapper Dinh Tien Dat sent his thanks to the sponsors and local people who donated money to the families. The rapper also appreciated the audience's affection for the artists and families of the children in the program.
Actress Kha Ngan said she was very touched when she saw the affection of Buon Ma Thuot audiences for the program Vietnamese Family Home. Unlike the sad feelings at the beginning of the program, the actress felt happy when witnessing the moment when the families received valuable prizes as well as seeing the affection of the local audience. Kha Ngan said that it was the affection and support of the audience when they stayed until the end of the recording as well as giving money from their own pockets to the children that motivated her and the children to try their best in the challenges.
Thus, with the support of rapper Dinh Tien Dat and actress Kha Ngan and the best efforts of the three families, they brought home a total prize of 95 million VND from Hoa Sen Group along with many meaningful gifts.
