On June 22nd, the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province announced that public schools that held entrance exams for 10th grade in the 2024-2025 school year have released the results of the entrance exams. Some schools with very low cutoff scores of 5, 6, or 7 points have already included students on the list of successful candidates.
With three subjects including math, literature, and English, students only need to score slightly more than 1 point in each subject to secure a place in a public high school.
Explaining the low admission scores to reporters, the leader of the Dak Lak Provincial Department of Education and Training stated that schools that organize entrance exams have assigned quotas and use the exam results to determine the admission scores to match the initial quotas. Students with low scores, but not below 1 point, are still considered for admission.
This year marks the first time Dak Lak province has piloted the 10th-grade entrance exam, therefore schools have not been fully prepared. This will serve as valuable experience for the education sector to organize future exams more effectively.
It is known that the school with the lowest entrance exam score for 10th grade in public schools in Dak Lak province (excluding specialized schools) is Krong Ana High School with only 5 points; the highest score is 15.75 points, which is Le Quy Don High School and Buon Ma Thuot High School.
In Dak Lak province, the 10th grade entrance exam was held by 12 schools with nearly 8,000 registered candidates.
These include 9 public high schools and 3 specialized schools (Nguyen Du Specialized High School, N'Trang Loeng Ethnic Boarding High School and Dam San Ethnic Boarding High School, Buon Ho town).
