On June 22, the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province informed that public schools organizing entrance exams for grade 10 in the 2024-2025 school year have just announced the admission results. Some schools with very low benchmark scores of 5 points, 6 points or 7 points have been named in the admission list.
With 3 subjects including math, literature and English, students only need to score more than 1 point in each subject to have a "place" in public grade 10.
Explaining to reporters about the low benchmark scores, the leader of the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training said that schools that are allowed to organize entrance exams will have assigned quotas and based on the exam results, they will convert the admission scores to the school to match the initial quota. Students with low scores but not less than 1 point will still be considered for admission.
This year is the first year that Dak Lak province has piloted the 10th grade entrance exam, so the preparation of schools has not been thorough. This will be an experience for the education sector to organize the exams better next year.
It is known that the school with the lowest standard score for entering grade 10 in Dak Lak province's public schools (excluding specialized schools) is only 5 points, which is Krong Ana High School; the highest with 15.75 points is Le Quy Don High School and Buon Ma Thuot High School.
The 10th grade entrance exam in Dak Lak has 12 schools organizing the exam with nearly 8,000 candidates registering to take the exam.
Of these, there are 9 public high schools and 3 specialized schools (Nguyen Du Specialized High School, N'Trang Long Boarding Ethnic High School and Dam San Boarding Ethnic High School, Buon Ho town).
