Moderate diet, study and rest
Mr. Ly Duc Thanh, Deputy Director of Fudubank Center in Ho Chi Minh City (specializing in skills) said that to achieve the best results in the exam, candidates need to have a regular diet, study and rest regimen.
According to Mr. Thanh, candidates need to maintain stable health and the best spirit. They need to eat nutritious food, drink enough water, and can supplement vitamin B from bananas and nuts. Candidates should not stay up too late, not wake up too early, and need to ensure they get enough sleep.

“You should not exercise too much or eat too much. In particular, do not stay up too late because it is not good for your health and spirit, and you will easily oversleep and be late for the exam,” Mr. Thanh noted.
Mr. Thanh added that on the day of the exam, candidates absolutely must not fast. They must eat cooked food and can have a light snack 30 minutes before the exam to replenish energy. At noon, they should take a nap of 15-20 minutes to regain energy, help them stay alert and do better in the afternoon. Avoid eating strange foods that are difficult to digest or can easily cause diarrhea or poisoning.
“Being confident in yourself, the contestant has won 50%, the rest is up to each contestant's efforts ,” said Mr. Thanh.
Secrets to getting high scores
Mr. Huynh Thanh Phu, Principal of Bui Thi Xuan High School (District 1) said that with the little time left, candidates should absolutely not put pressure on themselves by cramming more knowledge.
“Instead of studying, reading, solving problems or trying to memorize a lesson, spend time listening to music, playing light sports, eating out with your family to relax your mind. Remember, if you are not stressed, the accumulated knowledge will “return” to your brain more,” said Mr. Phu.

Regarding Literature, Mr. Vo Minh Nghia, a teacher at Nguyen Du High School (District 10), noted that in order to do well on the test, candidates should spend time reviewing their test-taking methods, including how to build a thesis to develop a literary excerpt. Don't just memorize, learn to understand. Understanding will help candidates handle the situations they encounter.
“If you want to feel secure, review the documents that you are most “afraid” of. As for the documents that you already understand, just “ignore” them for now,” said Mr. Nghia.
Mr. Nghia added:
Reading comprehension is the easiest question to get points for. You can do it without memorizing or studying. Just read the material carefully and answer the questions correctly and completely to get the full score.

Reading comprehension questions require attention to determining where to find the answer before answering. The answer may be outside the text or right in the text. Therefore, read the question carefully, stay calm to process the information in the question.
A paragraph sentence is a sentence that needs to be clearly defined as writing a paragraph, not writing an essay, so that there is no line break. It is necessary to clearly define the ideas that need to be written according to the Argumentative Problem that the topic requires. Find ideas before writing. Prioritize writing many ideas, not one idea that is analyzed at length.

For the question of analyzing a literary excerpt, candidates should remember that no matter what, it must include all three parts: Introduction, body, and conclusion. The body must be divided into paragraphs. Try to interpret literary details, poetic ideas, character moods, etc. in your own way through what your teacher has taught you. Avoid making wild, wordy inferences and absolutely avoid misinterpreting them in a violent, cursing direction.
"Write so that the examiner can see that you feel every word that the literary excerpt suggests. Just remember that and you will absolutely not be able to fail this subject and will not be able to score below average," Mr. Nghia advised.
