Provincial armed forces: Compete to successfully carry out military tasks

Closely following the reality and assigned tasks, this year the emulation movement to win was carried out by the provincial armed forces with the theme "Solidarity, exemplary, disciplined, creative, determined to win". During the implementation process, the provincial armed forces have promoted the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style, patriotic emulation movements, campaigns; promoted the building and rectification of the Party and the political system, and fought against individualism.

The Provincial Military Command said that thanks to its proactive implementation of military and defense tasks, the provincial armed forces are regularly highly appreciated by the Military Region. Notably, it has done a good job of advising local Party committees and authorities to regularly grasp, forecast, and accurately assess the situation, and coordinate to handle situations that arise to avoid being passive or surprised. Effectively mobilize resources to build a national defense foundation, a national defense posture associated with a people's security posture and build a solid defense area; organize well drills, especially drills in district-level defense areas to ensure absolute safety. At the same time, deploy the Project "Building a Standing Militia Fleet" in Binh Thuan on schedule. Strictly implement the planning of the defense works system, military zones, and ammunition depots; The planning, management and use of national defense land for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, must also be strictly in accordance with regulations.

It is known that in 2023, the Provincial Military Command also led, directed and implemented training well with 100% satisfactory results, of which 75% were good and excellent. In addition, the Provincial People's Committee and Military Service Council staff directed and implemented the successful completion of the 2023 military recruitment target, achieving 100% of the target at 3 levels, in accordance with the law; sending party members to officially join the army reached 1.92% (exceeding the target by 0.92%, up 0.8% compared to 2022); admitting party members also exceeded the assigned target. In the past year, the Provincial Military Command built 19 comrade houses, gratitude houses, Military-Civilian gratitude houses, and 100-dong houses with a cost of over 1.9 billion VND. Coordinated the construction of 2 cultural and sports facilities in religious establishments and cultural houses in ethnic minority areas worth over 4 billion VND. Continued to effectively implement the model "Provincial armed forces strengthen solidarity with ethnic groups and religions"; the model "Joining hands to nurture green shoots"; the model "Learning from your Party cells"; the model "Dialogue activities between units, soldiers and families" through smartphones and computers on the Zalo application... Thereby creating close relationships, leaving good images and feelings among the people.

With those common achievements, 145 groups and 189 individuals were awarded at all levels for their outstanding achievements in implementing emulation movements and assigned tasks. In particular, 12 comrades were awarded the Fatherland Protection Medal, 25 comrades were awarded the Victory Flag Medal, and 206 comrades were awarded the Glorious Soldier Medal. In addition, the Military Commands of districts, towns, and cities also awarded 44 groups and 64 individuals of the Militia and Self-Defense Force for performing assigned tasks.

Building a strong provincial military

Currently, in the context of complicated developments in the world and the region and the increasingly high requirements for military and defense tasks, the Provincial Military Command has determined to improve the quality of local military and defense work, focusing on building a strong provincial armed force right from the grassroots. Next year, the emulation movement to win will also be deployed comprehensively and synchronously, striving to achieve and exceed the set targets. Continue to organize well the study, dissemination and implementation of the Party's Resolution and the topic "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle". Step up propaganda, information and ideological orientation on complex and sensitive issues; build clean and strong Party committees and organizations at all levels, strong and comprehensive "exemplary and typical" agencies and units; improve the overall quality and combat strength of the provincial armed forces.

The Provincial Party Committee and Military Command are focusing on concretizing the instructions of Comrade Duong Van An - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Military Party Committee on military and defense tasks. The requirements are to advise the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to lead and direct the serious and effective implementation of the Central Committee's resolutions on the Strategy for protecting the Fatherland in the new situation and the Strategy for protecting the Fatherland in cyberspace. Implement well the conditions on human resources, weapons and equipment to successfully organize the provincial defense zone associated with the defense posture of the Military Region; enhance combat readiness, build a solid provincial defense zone, avoid surprises and passivity in all situations.

At the same time, proactively grasp, assess and forecast the situation correctly; advise on timely and effective solutions, not allowing hot spots to form in the area; effectively fight and refute distorted and fabricated information from hostile forces, opportunists and disgruntled elements in cyberspace. Focus resources on building Phu Quy Island into a solid defense area, building a comprehensively strong island district to serve as a logistics base for Truong Sa archipelago and DK1 Platform. Build the provincial armed forces with steadfast political will, absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland and the People; build a solid, widespread and high-quality militia and self-defense force; build a reserve mobilization force to ensure quantity and quality, well meeting the requirements of the task. Continue to improve the quality, ensure the lives of officers and soldiers; pay attention to taking good care of the material and spiritual life of policy families. Step up inspection and examination of military and defense tasks; truly exemplary, leading in implementing the "7 dares" in the Army: "Dare to think, dare to speak, dare to do, dare to take responsibility, dare to innovate, be creative, dare to face difficulties and challenges and dare to act for the common good".
