"Units of the Eastern Combat Group continued to fulfill tasks in the special military operation in the southern Donetsk region.
They used artillery systems and heavy guns to attack the positions and deployment areas of the 23rd Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, the 72nd Mechanized Brigade and the 128th Territorial Defense Brigade of the Ukrainian army near the settlements of Urozhaynoye, Ugledar, Dobrovolye, Voduyanoye, and Staromayorskoye. During the day, two attempts to rotate enemy troops in the Ukrainian frontline positions failed," Alexander Gordeyev, spokesman for the Eastern Combat Group, said on February 7.

Meanwhile, in the Artyomovsk region, the Russian Defense Ministry said its forces killed dozens of Ukrainian soldiers and attacked a Javelin anti-tank system with a drone.
In another development, the Russian Defense Ministry informed that the mortar force of the Central Military District of Russia prevented the rotation of Ukrainian troops in the Krasny Liman area while carrying out tasks in the campaign.
"The 2B9M Vasilek towed mortars neutralized a group of Ukrainian troops in the Serebryansky forest controlled by Kiev. The soldiers attacked the Ukrainian forces rotating in a stronghold. The success of this operation was due to close cooperation between reconnaissance agents and operators of reconnaissance drones," the Russian side emphasized.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the artillery of the Battlegroup Center noted the high efficiency of the Vesilek mortar, which can both strike accurately and hit targets over a wide area.
