Videos appearing on Wagner's Telegram social media accounts show Russian security personnel at the private military corporation's headquarters in St. Petersburg and a fence around the building.
The development comes after the head of the Wagner group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, was placed under criminal investigation by Russia. According to RT , Russia's Anti-Terrorism Committee said the Federal Security Service (FSB) had opened a criminal investigation into the reasons for calling for an armed uprising. "We demand an immediate cessation of all illegal activities," the Anti-Terrorism Committee said.

Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry accused Mr. Prigozhin of spreading false information through a video on social media, in which he claimed that the Russian army had attacked a base of Wagner gunmen.
“A large number of our fighters have been killed. We will decide how we will react. The next step is ours,” Prigozhin said in a statement commenting on the attack he mentioned.
He then declared that he would march on Moscow and demand that those responsible be held accountable, warning the Russian military not to stand in his way.
The Russian Defense Ministry denied the accusations, describing Prigozhin's statement as an informational provocation and saying that Russian troops were fighting on the front lines against Ukrainian troops.
Meanwhile, Mr. Prigozhin announced that Wagner forces had taken control of military facilities and airports in Rostov-on-Don, southern Russia.
According to CNN on June 24, Mr. Prigozhin said in a video posted on Wagner's official Telegram account: " We were at the command post at 7:30 a.m. The military facilities in Rostov, including the airport, were under our control... All we did was control the attack aircraft so that they would not attack us but attack in the direction of Ukraine."
Also according to CNN, a short statement on Wagner's Telegram social network said that this force had taken control of Russian military facilities in the city of Voronezh.
