(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Scammers often send messages offering attractive loan programs. However, this is merely a tactic to build trust and exploit people's urgent financial needs.
According to the Vietnam Cyber Emergency Response Center (VNCERT/CC) of the Information Security Department, online financial fraud schemes are on the rise, especially those impersonating financial institutions to entice people to borrow money with low interest rates and quick procedures.

Scammers often send messages offering attractive loan programs with many appealing promises. These fraudulent messages also claim that no background checks on family members are required, nor are any fees to be paid before receiving the money.
However, this is merely a tactic to build trust and exploit people's urgent financial needs. When contacted, these individuals will request personal information such as citizen identification numbers, bank account numbers, and other sensitive details.
After confirming that the "application has been approved," the scammers will ask people to pay a fee for "disbursement" or "loan insurance." The scam group promises that this money will be repaid along with the loan immediately after disbursement.
Once they receive the money and complete information from the victim, the perpetrators immediately block all communication and disappear. Furthermore, the victim's personal information is at risk of being leaked and used for other malicious purposes.
" People should be wary of loan offers sent via text messages from unknown sources. Absolutely do not provide personal information or transfer money before the funds are disbursed."
"If there are any requests for upfront fees, this is very likely a sign of fraud. Before borrowing money, carefully check the information of the financial company through official websites or authorities," VNCERT/CC Center advises.
