Rice price reverses and falls sharply

Rice prices today, January 14, 2025 in the Mekong Delta region fluctuated, rice of all kinds was relatively stable, some fresh rice products reversed and decreased sharply compared to the weekend.

For by-products, the prices of by-products and various by-products range from 5,750 to 7,200 VND/kg. Currently, the price of fragrant rice bran ranges from 7,100 to 7,200 VND/kg; the price of dry bran ranges from 5,750 to 5,850 VND/kg.

Recorded in localities today, the amount of rice arriving is small, new transactions are slow. In Sa Dec (Dong Thap), rice is arriving sporadically, warehouses are slow to buy, prices fluctuate slightly compared to yesterday. In Lap Vo - Vam Cong (Dong Thap), the amount is small, prices depend on rice quality.

Sa Dec market canal (Dong Thap), the quantity is low, the warehouse buys sporadically, all kinds of rice are bought at stable prices. In An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang), rice is sporadically available, the price has decreased, there is little good rice, most of the rice is weak.

At retail markets, rice prices are stable compared to yesterday. Currently, regular rice fluctuates at 15,000 - 17,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice increased by 2,000 VND, fluctuating at 18,000 - 20,000 VND/kg; Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price of 28,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice is 21,500 VND/kg; long-grain fragrant rice is 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice is 22,000 VND/kg; common white rice is 17,500 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice is 21,000 VND/kg; Soc rice usually fluctuates at 18,000 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice is 21,000 VND/kg; Japanese rice is 22,500 VND/kg.

In many localities today, buying and selling transactions are slow. In Can Tho, farmers are offering to sell regularly, the demand for buying rice from the harvest date is sparse. In An Giang, the demand from traders continues to be slow, the price of rice is relatively stable compared to yesterday.

In Dong Thap, trading is slow, traders are asking to buy rice that is far from the harvest date but pay low prices. In Bac Lieu, demand is slow, there are few buyers, rice prices are relatively stable.

In the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices today are stable compared to yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), currently 5% standard rice is at 434 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is at 409 USD/ton; 100% broken rice is at 326 USD/ton.
