On the morning of October 1, speaking with Dan Tri reporter, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Principal of Luong Minh Primary Boarding School (Minh Tien village, Luong Minh commune, Tuong Duong district) said that this school had 361 students who had to stay home from school due to flood water entering the classrooms.
"Last night (September 30), flash floods caused the school to be flooded quite deeply, some classrooms below were flooded 20-60cm. This school has 299/361 boarding students, the flood water caused the classrooms to be surrounded by mud so we let the students stay home.

This morning, the school called parents to come to school to take their children home. The school cannot cook for boarding students because the living and eating conditions are not guaranteed...", said Mr. Thanh.
According to Mr. Thanh, the cleaning of the school and classrooms is being done by the authorities, teachers and villagers.

Flash floods also damaged many school documents, books, and student belongings.
On the morning of October 1st, all students in the school were off school, teachers and local people organized to clean up mud and dirt, and clean the school and classrooms.
The school also requested local medical units to disinfect the school and classrooms.
