Alain Corvez, a former French colonel and former adviser to the French Ministry of Defense, said the 155th Combined Arms Brigade of the Ukrainian infantry, formed and trained by France, would be defeated by the Russian army.
“The brigade will not change the course of the conflict because they will be defeated by Russia, which possesses powerful artillery and equipment, not to mention significant air superiority,” Corvez pointed out.
According to him, the weapons that France equipped the brigade with were "good but not suitable for conducting a war against a much more experienced Russian army".

Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron posted a video showing the training of thousands of Ukrainian troops in France on October 9. The Ukrainian brigade was equipped with weapons by France in preparation for deployment on the front line.
French personnel are teaching Ukrainian soldiers how to use and maintain weapons supplied by France. They are also being put through a simulated combat environment with stress, noise and drones. Trenches are being dug with a layout similar to that in Ukraine.
Mr Macron has pledged to train an entire brigade of Ukrainian armed forces and provide them with military equipment. France plans to equip the 155th Brigade with 128 VAB armored personnel carriers, along with 18 Caesar self-propelled guns, 18 AMX-10 RC light tanks, 20 Milan anti-tank missile systems and 10 TRM military trucks.
The new force will be symbolically named the "Brigade of Anne de Kiev", after a Kiev princess who became queen of France in 1051 after marrying King Henry I.
The 155th Ukrainian Brigade will consist of 4,500 troops, 2,300 of whom are being trained in France, forming three infantry battalions, plus engineers, artillery crews and other specialists. The brigade’s other battalions will be trained by Ukraine.
