On the firing test field, the lying position segment of the AK submachine gun shooting exercise 1 of Company 12, Battalion 4, Engineer Brigade 414 was filled with banners and slogans. At the waiting line, the cadres at all levels encouraged the new recruits, created confidence, and added motivation to the new recruits to enter the firing range. The silence was broken after the crisp firing range. The target announcement was made: Stand 1: 8 - 9 - 8; Stand 2: 10 - 9 - 10... followed by a round of applause to encourage the new recruits that resounded throughout the field.

Returning from the shooting platform with a score of 29 points, Private Vo Van Hau, a soldier of Platoon 4, Company 12, said: “Before entering the shooting platform, I was very nervous and worried. However, remembering the Brigade Commander's instructions and the guidance of the staff at all levels, I regained my composure, took a deep breath and confidently pulled the trigger to finish the shot. For today's test results, I am very grateful for the help, encouragement and training of the staff at all levels.”

Major Nguyen Van Viet, Deputy Political Commissar of Battalion 4, said: “With many years of experience in training new soldiers, the Party Committee and Battalion Commander have determined that cadres must always accompany to create confidence to help soldiers overcome difficulties. In addition to requesting the Brigade to increase experienced and capable cadres to train new soldiers, the Battalion also opened training courses on methods of grasping and managing soldiers' ideology and skills in organizing Party and political activities. To help new soldiers gain confidence and integrate into the military environment, Battalion 4 and Engineer Brigade 414 have organized many activities such as: Visiting historical sites; traditional education; youth forums; talks, comrades' birthdays; cultural, artistic and sports exchanges... Through these activities, new soldiers have been able to ease their homesickness and strive to complete their tasks well.

New soldier Dinh Dong, Platoon 6, Company 13 confided: "Thanks to the encouragement and support of the staff at all levels, it has given me the motivation and confidence to overcome difficulties." Originally a Van Kieu ethnic from Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province, away from his family for the first time, in the first days of joining the unit, Dong often sat alone and rarely talked to anyone. However, thanks to the encouragement of the staff at all levels and encouragement to participate in activities, Dong quickly integrated into the new environment and excelled in completing all tasks.

Soldier Nguyen Van Dat, Platoon 2, Company 12, still cannot believe that he has overcome the challenges and difficulties. In order to help Dat stabilize his mentality and feel secure in his work, Captain Bui Trong Tai, Political Commissar of Company 12, encouraged Dat; at the same time, every day during break time, he lent Dat his phone to call his wife and children on Zalo.
