The Department of Education and Training (GD-DT) of Ho Chi Minh City has just issued a document guiding the enrollment of 6th grade students at Tran Dai Nghia Specialized School.
Specifically, the condition for admission to grade 6 is that students have completed the primary school program and have a final periodic test score of 9 points or higher in each subject of Vietnamese and math in grade 5. In addition, students will participate in an English proficiency assessment test on July 4. According to the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, the content of the competency assessment for admission to grade 6 is as follows: Candidates will take a competency assessment test on the following skills: language (English, Vietnamese - writing); mathematics and logical thinking; natural sciences, social sciences (history - geography); common sense of life.

The form of the competency assessment includes multiple choice and essay sections. Multiple choice section: Candidates take a 20-question test in English about their understanding of natural sciences, social sciences and common sense in life in 30 minutes. Essay section: Candidates take the test in 60 minutes, including: English proficiency assessment: listening comprehension, reading comprehension, writing. Candidates take the test in English. -Assessment of mathematical and logical thinking abilities, reading comprehension and writing abilities. Candidates take the test in Vietnamese. All competency assessment sections are 90 minutes.
If students are not admitted to grade 6 at Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted or schools implementing the high-quality program "advanced schools, international integration", they will still be considered for admission to grade 6 according to the regulations of the Steering Committee for Primary Admissions.
