On the afternoon of July 28, the People's Committee of Long An province organized the 2023 Japan investment promotion conference with the theme "Long An - Integration and Development", marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - Japan diplomatic relations.

The conference was attended by Long An Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Duoc, Japanese Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Ono Masuo; Governor of Ibaraki Province Oigawa Kazuhiko; Vice Chairman of Okayama City People's Council Morita Takushi, and representatives of many Japanese enterprises and investors.

Speaking at the conference, Long An Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Duoc said that Long An province will continue to pay attention to human resource training and solve labor problems for businesses. The Long An Provincial Party Secretary hopes that Japanese businesses will always accompany the province in training high-quality workers to meet the labor needs of businesses coming to Long An, and at the same time, accompany the government in improving the investment environment.
With the message "the difficulties of enterprises are also the difficulties of the province", sharing and accompanying, Long An provincial government will always receive feedback and dialogue to further improve the capacity and management system to meet the needs of investors in general, including Japanese investors. Long An province will continue to invest and upgrade infrastructure, especially transport infrastructure, to create the most favorable conditions for businesses when investing in the province.
Also at the conference, Mr. Ono Masuo, Consulate General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City, assessed Long An province as an important locality connecting Ho Chi Minh City (the largest economic center in Vietnam) with the provinces of the Mekong Delta. This place not only has rich resources and agriculture, with the leading output in the country, but also has many industrial parks and land funds for production. Currently, the number of Japanese enterprises investing in Long An has exceeded 100 enterprises and is also the locality with the largest number of Japanese enterprises in the Mekong Delta region.
With the commitment to develop the transport infrastructure system, logistics, Japanese enterprises highly appreciate these potentials and advantages. Thereby, they also expect Long An to have changes, further improving the investment environment in the coming time. These will be factors to contribute to bringing more businesses to Long An.

To date, there are 138 projects from Japanese enterprises operating in the province with an investment capital of about 767 million USD. In recent times, Japanese projects in Long An have continuously expanded in scale and increased investment capital, showing that Japanese enterprises still have confidence in Long An's investment environment.
Within the framework of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (1973 - 2023), in the morning of the same day, at the integrated urban area of Waterpoint (Ben Luc district, Long An), the groundbreaking ceremony of the Vietnam - Japan friendship project and the launching of the Heritage Forest tree planting took place; the signing ceremony of the joint statement between the People's Committee of Long An province, Vietnam and Ibaraki province, Japan; Opening of the exhibition to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan.
