According to information from the People's Committee of Long An province, the development orientation until 2030, this province will have 17 newly established industrial parks with an additional area of ​​nearly 3,200 hectares, bringing the total number of industrial parks in the province to 51 with an area of ​​nearly 12,500 hectares.

With such a strong increase in industrial real estate area, Long An will become the locality with the second largest industrial park area in the country (after Binh Duong), creating a strong point to attract investment in the future.

In addition, the Long An Provincial People's Committee said it will plan 28 new industrial clusters with a total area of ​​over 1,800 hectares, bringing the total number of industrial clusters in the province to 72 with a total area of ​​nearly 4,000 hectares. At the same time, it will focus on developing the industry towards technological innovation, improving productivity, competitiveness, efficient use and saving resources; striving for an average industrial production index increase of about 13% per year in the period of 2021 - 2030.

The province prioritizes the development of processing, manufacturing and renewable energy industries; focusing on developing a number of key industries such as: production of metals and prefabricated metal products, mechanical engineering, food processing, electronic products, chemicals and chemical products, energy, etc.

According to the report of the Long An Provincial People's Committee, currently the whole province has 24 industrial parks eligible to receive investment with an industrial land area of ​​nearly 4,300 hectares, the occupancy rate reaching 65.2%; of which, there are 878 foreign investment projects with a total investment capital of nearly 6.2 billion USD and 930 domestic investment projects with a total capital of more than 133,000 billion VND.

Regarding industrial clusters, the province currently has 23 industrial clusters in operation, attracting 688 projects with a total leased land area of ​​over 800 hectares; the occupancy rate of operating industrial clusters reaches 87.5%.

Inherent advantages

According to data from the General Statistics Office in 2022, Long An province's FDI attraction ranked in the top 10 provinces and cities and was the leading locality in the Mekong Delta region. In the first 6 months of 2023, Long An's FDI attraction rose to 5th place out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide and continued to rank first in the Mekong Delta region. Currently, there are nearly 40 countries and territories with investment projects in the province.

In terms of location, Long An is currently located in the Southern Key Economic Zone, the gateway connecting the Mekong Delta provinces with Ho Chi Minh City and the Southeast provinces. This province also has abundant public land and a system of available factories in industrial parks to attract investors. Especially with the increasing demand for industrial real estate at the present time.

Regarding connecting infrastructure, Long An is currently enjoying many advantages in terms of transport infrastructure, which is being focused on synchronous development to connect industrial parks with Long An port, creating connections within the province and advantages in transport infrastructure.

According to the planning of Long An province, the spatial organization will develop according to the model of "One center - two corridors - three socio-economic regions (SEZ) - six dynamic axes". Of which, one center is Tan An city. Two corridors include: Ring Road 3, 4 and the Southern Development Corridor. Three socio-economic regions include: urban and industrial zone, high-tech agricultural zone, tourism and border gate economy, ecological buffer zone. Six dynamic axes include: Ring Road 3, 4, National Highway 50B, parallel road of National Highway 61B, My Quy Tay - Luong Hoa - Binh Chanh axis, National Highway N1 and Duc Hoa dynamic axis.

All these preparations are aimed at becoming an economic development center, an industrial center in the Southern region according to the province's target plan until 2030. With this orientation, Long An will become a gateway on the urban-industrial economic corridor of the Mekong Delta region, closely connecting with Ho Chi Minh City and the Southeast region. Long An is also an important cooperation and trade hub with Cambodia.
