Long An is drastically implementing many solutions to complete the traffic infrastructure connecting Ho Chi Minh City, neighboring localities and the border gate area adjacent to Cambodia to create momentum for acceleration and breakthrough. Along with that, the province is speeding up the construction progress of Ring Road 3; the axis parallel to Ring Road 4, the section from the Ho Chi Minh City-Trung Luong Expressway intersection to Provincial Road 830E; Duc Hoa dynamic axis connecting Provincial Roads 822, 823, 823B, 825 with Ho Chi Minh City...
At the same time, Long An is implementing pre-feasibility procedures for the Ring Road 4 project, the section passing through the province with a length of 74.5km; Luong Hoa provincial road connecting Binh Chanh (Ho Chi Minh City); National Highway 50B connecting Ho Chi Minh City, Long An and Tien Giang. In addition, the Ministry of Transport is completing procedures to upgrade and expand National Highway 62 into a level III plain road, running from Tan An city to Binh Hiep international border gate (Kien Tuong town, Long An), with a length of 76km.
The Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project has a total length of about 76.34km, passing through Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Binh Duong and Long An. The section passing through Long An alone is 6.84km long, with a total land clearance and road construction investment of more than VND4,208 billion. After 10 months of construction, contractors have completed more than 30% of the work, achieving progress according to plan, striving to open the expressway section to traffic in October 2025 and the entire project in 2026 as directed by the Government.

Provincial Road 830E Project (parallel to Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4) with a length of 9.351km, total investment in site clearance and construction of more than 3,700 billion VND is also being actively implemented. By early June 2024, the locality had cleared 86.3% of the site, the remaining people are waiting for support policies and resettlement arrangements. For the Duc Hoa dynamic axis connecting Provincial Roads 822, 823, 823B and 825 with Ho Chi Minh City, construction units are speeding up progress, striving to complete in time to welcome the Long An Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030 and the 14th National Party Congress.
In addition to the key traffic projects in Long An that are being invested in and constructed, the Ministry of Transport is carrying out procedures to upgrade and expand National Highway 62 into a grade III delta road, with a total length of 76km, which will start construction in 2025. The upgrading and expansion of National Highway 62 is the desire of the authorities and people of the provinces: Long An, Tien Giang and Dong Thap, in creating momentum for socio-economic development, especially the border trade economy in the Dong Thap Muoi region. This is also an effective traffic axis connecting Binh Hiep border gate (Long An) with Prey Voa border gate (Cambodia). In addition, the Ministry of Planning and Investment is submitting to the Prime Minister for approval the proposal for the project to build a new dynamic axis of National Highway 50B connecting Ho Chi Minh City, Long An and Tien Giang. The total investment of this project is about 4,797 billion VND. Director of Long An Department of Transport Dang Hoang Tuan said that all traffic projects being implemented in the province, when completed and put into use, will remove traffic bottlenecks in the gateway area of Long An province bordering Ho Chi Minh City. When this bottleneck is resolved, it will create conditions for Long An and the provinces in the Mekong Delta to attract investment, create momentum for socio-economic development, and move towards realizing the aspiration for sustainable development. At the same time, the province requested the construction unit to speed up the project implementation progress, especially the synchronous coordination between the investor, the construction unit and the locality where the project is being implemented.
