The heat of admission to grade 10 in Hanoi this year is predicted to continue to be intense. Therefore, the backup plan at private schools, adding more opportunities to enter grade 10 is of interest to many parents and candidates.
MVLomonosov Secondary and High School announced enrollment for grade 10 for the 2024-2025 school year with 400 positions. Students who want to enroll must take the exam organized by the school (3 subjects: Math, Literature and English) on March 24, April 21 and May 19 or the grade 10 entrance exam organized by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training.
The admission method is based on each student's admission score, the admission council decides whether to pass or not after receiving the test results organized by the school (round 1); in the round of receiving the 10th grade entrance exam results of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training (round 2), after submitting the application, the school will select from high to low until the quota is full.
The enrollment fee for this school is 500,000 VND/student.
In the 2024-2025 school year, Nguyen Sieu Secondary and High School will enroll 270 students in grade 10. The school prioritizes students who have won awards in competitions organized by the Department of Education and Training and the Ministry of Education and Training or have an IELTS score of 6.0 or higher. Students applying to grade 10 at the school will take a test to assess their abilities in Math, Literature and English. The test is scheduled for mid-April and the school will open the registration portal from March 11.
After that, if there are still quotas, the school will consider admission based on the results of the 10th grade entrance exam for public high schools organized by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training in combination with an English proficiency test.
Archimedes Academy High School also announced that it will directly enroll 10th graders with IELTS scores of 5.5 or higher; or students who have won third prize or higher in district-level competitions or provincial-level competitions. If they do not meet the direct admission requirements, students will take the school entrance exam, which will take place on March 10 with three subjects: Math, English, and Literature. The admission score is the total score of the three subjects, with Math and English having a coefficient of two.
The school will consider admission based on the results of the 10th grade entrance exam of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training in case there are still quotas.

This year , the Vietnam - Australia Inter-level School in Hanoi is recruiting 102 grade 10 students for the Cambridge International Program (72 positions) and the new specialized training program - SEP (30 positions). The school will accept applications until June 30 or when the quota is full.
In addition to being admitted directly if they meet some of the school's specific criteria, students in Hanoi need to take a knowledge test, including English with a 60-minute test time, then answer a 10-minute interview with a foreign teacher.
Previously, students must meet the following conditions if admission is based on academic results: Applicable to students who have achieved Good results in 4 years of junior high school and Good conduct in the most recent semester; if students are admitted based on the results of the 10th grade entrance exam according to the general exam of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training: have an average score of 6 or higher for the 10th grade entrance exam subjects.
The school's 10th grade entrance fee is 2.1 million VND for the Cambridge International program; 500,000 VND for the SEP program.
Doan Thi Diem High School also announced the time to release application documents for admission to grade 10 for the 2024-2025 school year and accept registrations from February 20. To date, some parents have completed the admission confirmation form and paid the admission fee as a form of "deposit".
Some schools, such as Newton Middle and High School, recruited their first 10th graders at the end of January. Applicants to this school must pass an aptitude test, in which the semi-international program will take a Math and English test; the American/Cambridge Bilingual program will take an additional comprehensive test including Math, Science, and Language Arts.
