Initially, introducing pickleball into teaching faced many challenges, because this subject required a large space to practice; while equipment was not abundant and the cost was high.

To overcome this, the school has invested in building a standard playground with a roof and fully equipped with necessary facilities. Lecturers are able to participate in intensive training courses organized by the Asian Pickleball Federation to have more effective materials and knowledge for teaching.

"After a period of implementation, Pickleball has created a positive effect in the student community. The demand for registration has increased. In addition to teaching, the school's lecturers also love to practice, bringing a joyful, cohesive atmosphere, relieving stress", shared Master. Vu Van Trung.

At Hanoi University of Culture, in the 2024-2025 school year, according to the needs of students, the School Youth Union established the PickleBall Club. This is a place where students can exchange, learn and satisfy their passion for their favorite sport.

According to Tran Chieu Phung , Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union and President of the Student Association of Hanoi University of Culture , sports have always been a strong link connecting the community and enhancing solidarity. Investing in students with good health, knowledge and physical strength for the future is always an investment that Hanoi University of Culture aims for.

"Pickleball helps players be flexible in reflexes and quick because they constantly move on the field. This sport is included in many activities of lecturers and students based on the proposal of the Physical Education Department; it is expected to be officially implemented in the 2025-2026 school year," Mr. Phung informed.

The school is currently in the process of preparing more thoroughly in terms of facilities, lecturers and training programs. Because this is a new sport, the school's physical conditions are not sufficient to meet the needs. Therefore, the Youth Union - Student Association is actively mobilizing sponsors to invest in equipment and build a Pickleball court, so that students can access the best learning opportunities.

"Students were very happy when they learned that they would be learning Pickle Ball. In just one night, the school's introductory post attracted 1,300 likes and comments. Most of the reactions were positive and enthusiastic, hoping that the playground would be built and put into operation soon," said the Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union.

In February 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education High School put into use the M sports field so that students and teachers can practice the "feverish" sport of pickleball. Accordingly, this is a sports field that ensures technical standards to achieve the best durability, flatness and grip according to the standards of the International Basketball Federation and the International Tennis Federation.

The school representative said that pickleball is a "feverish" sport at many sports fields in and outside the country. Therefore, students need to approach, learn and experience it right at school. The school expects students and teachers to make the most of the equipped facilities for learning and development.

Recently, the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang City has sent an official dispatch to education departments and schools in the area regarding the implementation of Pickleball training.

Accordingly, schools will count the number of registrants so that the department can propose to the Da Nang City Pickleball Federation to support rackets, balls and professional training sessions.
