The list of 8 shareholders holding more than 1% of capital has just been announced by VietABank.
Who owns the capital of VietABank?
Accordingly, Viet Phuong Investment Group Joint Stock Company is the largest shareholder, holding 65.9 million VAB shares, or 12.21% of the bank's charter capital.
People related to Viet Phuong Investment Group also own 41.18 million shares, equivalent to 7.63% of VAB's capital.
According to the introduction on Viet Phuong's website, this group operates in main fields such as real estate, minerals, energy, medical pharmaceuticals... This is the investor of the Sontra resort & spa resort project...
Another private institutional shareholder of VietABank is Cu Chi Industrial and Commercial Investment and Development Joint Stock Company, which currently owns more than 6.4 million VAB shares, equivalent to 1.2%. This company is chaired by Mr. Phan Van Toi (Vice Chairman of VAB Board of Directors).
The list also includes state shareholders, including Saigon Jewelry Company Limited (SJC) which owns more than 14.93 million shares, equivalent to 2.77% of capital, while the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Office holds 4.97% of VAB's capital.
As for individual shareholders, the largest is Mr. Phuong Huu Viet, former chairman of VietABank, who directly holds 24.55 million VAB shares, equivalent to 4.55% of capital.
Mr. Viet's relatives are also holding 75.8 million VAB shares, equivalent to 14.05% of capital.
Mr. Tran Tien Dung, member of the Board of Directors and Deputy General Director of VAB, is holding more than 5.4 million shares, equivalent to 1.02% of VietABank's capital.
In addition, Ms. Le Thi Lan holds 7.1 million VAB shares, and related persons hold 4.55%; Ms. Do Thi Ngoc Ha holds 1.02% and related persons own 13.47% of capital.
T&T Group and Mr. Hien's family hold large capital at SHB
Another bank, SHB, has recently also publicly disclosed its shareholders holding more than 1% of its charter capital. Among them, the group of shareholders of T&T Group and the family of "boss" Hien own more than 20% of SHB's shares.
Specifically, T&T Group Joint Stock Company is the only major shareholder holding more than 287.38 million SHB shares, equivalent to 7.85% of capital.
The group of shareholders who are also related to T&T Group also holds more than 12.2% of SHB's capital, such as Saigon - Hanoi Securities Joint Stock Company (SHS) holding 1.46% of capital, and Mr. Do Quang Hien's family owns more than 10%.
The list of SHB shareholders is quite "short"
The report shows that Mr. Hien, chairman of SHB, holds 2.72% of the bank's capital. Ms. Do Thi Thu Ha, Mr. Hien's sister, holds 2.03%.
Mr. Hien's two sons, Mr. Do Quang Vinh - Vice Chairman of SHB and Mr. Do Vinh Quang, hold 2.77% and 2.93% respectively. Other people related to T&T also hold 0.33% of SHB shares.
In May this year, Mr. Do Quang Vinh registered to buy more than 100.1 million SHB shares but the transaction was only successful in trading more than 25.73 million. At the same time, T&T Group also registered to sell to reduce its ownership ratio.

Vietnam Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MSB) has recently updated the list of institutional shareholders holding 1% or more of capital.
The latest list no longer includes Tien An Investment Joint Stock Company. While VNPT is still the largest shareholder holding 6.05% of capital. The remaining notable shareholders are a number of other shareholders related to ROX Group.
Specifically, ROX Key Holdings JSC owns 2.43% of MSB's capital and its related parties nearly 1%. Next, TNL Asset Investment and Leasing JSC owns 1.08% of the bank's capital and its related parties 1.87% of the capital; and ROX Cons Construction Investment JSC holds 1.87%.
