TPO - After nearly two years of construction, Tan Son Nhat Airport's T3 terminal has been revealed with important items such as the roof, basements and above-ground floors, commercial area, overpass...
Terminal T3 of Tan Son Nhat airport with a total investment of nearly 11,000 billion VND is expected to be completed on April 30, 2025, 2 months ahead of schedule. |
When put into operation, the terminal will be the largest in the country with 20 million passengers, increasing the total capacity of Tan Son Nhat International Airport to 50 million passengers per year. |
According to the Project Management Board, all items of Tan Son Nhat T3 terminal have basically completed the structural part. Contractors are speeding up the construction progress of the architectural part and the remaining work. |
The most important part of the project is the 7,500-ton steel roof structure, which was completed in September after 120 days of progress. At the same time, the first-layer aluminum roof of the passenger terminal has also been built, covering 42,000 square meters, reaching 100%. |
The passenger waiting area, check-in counter and security check and screening areas have completed the structural frame. |
The viaduct system is under construction and is expected to be closed by the end of December and completed in February 2025. |
Workers are urgently installing glass walls on the passenger terminal floors with the goal of completing this item by the end of this year. |
The construction volume of the contractors will be divided into 15-day progress. The implementation process will be evaluated regularly. If any contractor fails to reach the specified output, they must compensate in the next 15-day period to ensure that the set target is always met. |
More than 90% of this work has been completed on the B2 floors of the commercial building, as well as the B1 and 1st floors of the passenger terminal. |
Contractors are actively deploying equipment and machinery systems for items such as air conditioning ducts, fire protection and water supply and drainage. |
The terminal has 90 traditional airline check-in counters, 20 automatic bagdrop counters and 42 check-in kiosks, 27 boarding gates (including 13 telescopic gates and 14 bus gates), 6 departure baggage handling islands and 10 arrival baggage return islands, and 25 security control gates. |
The entire project has more than 2,500 engineers and construction workers, divided into many deployment teams to speed up construction progress. |
Along with the construction of the structure, equipment and machinery systems are also being imported for installation according to the progress of each item. Items with large volumes such as air conditioning ducts, fire protection, water supply and drainage have been installed over 90% on the B2 floors of the commercial building, B1 floors and 1 passenger terminal. |
Terminal T3 is expected to be completed two months ahead of schedule. Once operational, Terminal T3 will help reduce the load on the existing domestic terminal at Tan Son Nhat Airport. |
