Following a series of leaked images of the new generation of iPhones, rumor expert Majin Bu has just posted more leaked images comparing the thickness of the iPhone 17 Pro with the iPhone 17 Air.
Specifically, leaked computer graphics (CAD) renderings of the iPhone 17 Air show an incredibly thin design, almost twice as thin as the iPhone 17 Pro. Accordingly, the latest reports reveal that the iPhone 17 Air will be approximately 5.5 mm to 6 mm thick. The maximum thickness, including the camera, will be 9.5 mm.
Analyst Jeff Pu also provided similar information. In a note seen by BGR, Pu said the iPhone 17 Air will be 5.5-6mm thick. The expert also reiterated other rumors such as a 6.6-inch screen, an A19 chip and 8GB of RAM, as well as support for Apple Intelligence.
According to Pu's notes, the iPhone 17 Air will also have a 24 MP front camera, a 48 MP rear camera with a 7P lens, Face ID, a titanium casing, Apple's C1 5G modem, and 35 W fast charging.
BGR suggests this could be one of the most significant iPhone updates in years. After the less-than-impressive iPhone 16, Apple may be attempting to redesign the iPhone line, improve the chip, and develop Apple Intelligence.
Previously, on social media platform X, leaker Sonny Dickson shared images believed to be a case for the iPhone 17 Air, the ultra-thin smartphone that Apple is expected to launch later this year.
According to rumors, the iPhone 17 Air is only 5.5 mm thick at its thinnest point. To achieve this, Apple had to compromise on some features, such as reducing the rear camera to a single lens.
Despite having only a single rear camera, the iPhone 17 Air still stands out thanks to its redesigned camera module. After numerous rumors, images from Dickson reveal the shape of the new camera module. Based on the images, the iPhone 17 Air case has a pill-shaped cutout at the top, positioned horizontally and extending across the entire width of the device.
