On April 13, the People's Committee of Thu Duc City reported to the Thu Duc City Party Committee and relevant departments about the incident in which a group of students from Thai Van Lung Secondary School (Phu Chau Street, Tam Phu Ward) fought outside the school.
In another development, Tam Binh ward police have made an initial record of the incident and handed over the students to the school and their families for education.

According to authorities, the incident involved 6 students, mostly 7th graders and a few 8th graders from Thai Van Lung Secondary School, all 13-14 years old.
The female student who was beaten by a group is MN. The male student who was assaulted is HP. Both of them were in the same 7th grade class and after the incident, no serious injuries were recorded and their health is normal.
A week ago, when MN was teased by an 8th grade senior, a female student named QN stood up to defend MN. A few days later, MN was harassed by another female student, and QN stepped in to resolve the issue. Afterwards, QN asked MN for 1.5 million VND for helping to resolve the issue many times, and MN agreed but has not yet given it.
At noon on April 11, after school, MN and HP went home together. But at the school gate, QN's group of male and female students were waiting, forcing them to an empty lot on Street 11, Ward 3, Tam Binh Ward to settle the matter.
Here, QN's group questioned MN why she promised but didn't give 1.5 million VND. When MN didn't answer, QN and his friends jumped in and beat her with their hands, feet, and helmets. The group of male students who were with QN dragged HP out and beat him with their hands and feet, then the whole group dispersed and went home.
After being beaten, MN and HP and their families did not report to the school or authorities.
When the incident became a sensation online, Tam Binh Ward Police and Tam Phu Ward Police (Thu Duc City) coordinated with other authorities to review and identify each student involved in the fight, invite them to work, and take statements with the participation of their guardians.
Thu Duc City People's Committee directed the Department of Education and Training and the Board of Directors of Thai Van Lung Secondary School to take measures to discuss with students and their families to strengthen discipline, education, and psychological counseling for students; visit and encourage the two beaten students to stabilize soon, complete their studies well, and recover their health.
Thu Duc City People's Committee also requested the Department of Education and Training to continue directing school principals in the area to strengthen education on preventing school violence and educating students on ethics, lifestyle, discipline, and awareness of law compliance.
