At the LPBank Cup 2024, the players of the Vietnamese team will meet referee Suhaizi Bin Shukri (Malaysia) again. This year, Mr. Suhaizi Bin Shukri is 44 years old and is considered one of the most prestigious referees in Southeast Asia. In 2011, Suhaizi Bin Shukri became a professional referee and officiated matches in the Malaysia Super League. Just one year later, his talent and reputation were highly appreciated by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), who invited him to officiate many matches in the AFC Champions League and AFC Cup.

In addition, Mr. Suhaizi Bin Shukri also has a lot of experience working in national team level matches when he officiated at the 2015 AFC Asian Cup, the 2018 World Cup qualifiers and the 2019 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers. On March 13, 2013, he was the first Malaysian referee to officiate a match of the Indonesian National Football Championship (ISL). In 2023, referee Suhaizi Bin Shukri was the main referee for the friendly match between the Vietnam team and the Hong Kong team, which took place on June 13 at Lach Tray Stadium (Hai Phong). At the same time, the Malaysian "black shirt king" also understands Vietnamese football well when he refereed an important match in the championship race between Binh Dinh Club and Viettel in round 23 of V-League 2022. Previously, in V-League 2017, Mr. Suhaizi Bin Shukri also came to Vietnam to officiate in a number of matches that were considered to have decisive significance in the relegation race.

Not only Mr. Suhaizi Bin Shukri, but also familiar assistant referees in Vietnamese football such as Mohd Arif Shamil Bin Abd Rasid and Mohd Yusri Bin Muhamad will also be present. These two assistants are the ones who regularly work with Mr. Suhaizi Bin Shukri when they come to Vietnam as well as officiate matches at the continental level. As for assistant referee Arif Shamil Abd Rasid, he is one of the referees who worked in the final match of Group D of the 2023 Asian Cup, when the Vietnamese team met Iraq. The Vietnamese referees invited to officiate at this tournament include two FIFA referees Hoang Ngoc Ha (Vietnam Golden Whistle), Nguyen Manh Hai; two assistant referees Truong Duc Chien and Tran Duy Khanh.

To prepare for the LPBank Cup 2024, coach Kim Sang-sik has announced a list of 26 players to be called up and the whole team is expected to gather on August 30.
