Nguyen Hue Flower Street for Tet At Ty will open from January 27 (28th of Tet) - February 2 (5th of Tet). Photo: Organizing Committee With 22 years of being held, the Tet flower street in the central area of Ho Chi Minh City is considered a cultural symbol of Tet in the city. Nguyen Hue Flower Street for the Lunar New Year 2025 has the theme of "Brocaded mountains and rivers, happy spring in peace", divided into 3 segments "Unity", "Transformation" and "Development" - representing the historical stages of the Vietnamese people. The large open gate scene creates an abstract perspective with a shape that resembles both a honeycomb and a cave. Thousands of thinly woven bamboo and rattan panels are used as the ceiling and columns of the cave, up to 8m high, covering an area of nearly 1,000m2. In particular, the pair of mascots Kim Ty and Ngan Ty at the gate of Nguyen Hue Flower Street 2025 is an impressive return in appearance, size and crafting compared to the mascots in 2013. Ngan Ty (female) is 25m long and Kim Ty (male) is 42m long, with their entire bodies winding in 3 intertwined circles, forming a base more than 11m wide, with a height from the body adjacent to the flower base to the top of the head of over 6m. The snake's head and belly are covered with painted pressed bamboo panels. The entire upper back is covered with reflective mica scales, creating a shimmer. The total number of scales on the body of Ngan Ty is about 2,700 pieces and Kim Ty is nearly 3,600 pieces, hand-attached, combined with LED lights running along both sides of the belly. The snake's eyes are also a highlight compared to 2013 with a diameter of 10cm, painted according to the design. The bamboo bushes behind the Ngan Ty - Kim Ty pair are also environmentally friendly creations, with bamboo trunks 2.5-12m high, made of bamboo and rattan covered with round steel boxes, painted alternately in light green and ivory yellow. The hollow shape with many holes along the body is the light source for the pair of mascots when the flower path is lit up. The Snake lady is dressed in a checkered scarf and conical hat, simulating the shape of a king cobra with its head raised high, its entire body covered in green, measuring more than 50m long and more than 10m high. The body is made from nearly 3,000 painted foam scales, bent into 2 circles. Lady Ty is modeled after the shape of a king cobra with its head raised. The project uses a large amount of flower background, an estimated 109,000 flower baskets of all kinds. This year, the rice field area also shows a difference with terraced fields and corn roofs, interspersed with pillars decorated with brocade motifs. In addition, the Unified Spring Celebration scene combines many colorful flowers, along with the image of a train marking the first year of operation of the metro in Ho Chi Minh City. The middle scene is the Bong robot with an immortal flower spring outfit, its face is an LED screen with a happy expression, a bright smile and New Year greetings. Nguyen Hue Flower Street Tet At Ty will open from 7pm on January 27 (28th of Tet) - 9pm on February 2 (5th of Tet).
