Fierce fighting in Ugledar, Ukrainian soldiers retreat en masse
The battle for control of the strategic city of Ugledar in the Donetsk region continues in the city center. This was announced by the Chairman of the Russian Public Committee on Sovereignty Issues, Vladimir Rogov, to RIA Novosti news agency.
Mr. Rogov added that the Russian Armed Forces have expanded the zone of control to the outskirts of Ugledar. Accordingly, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to maintain a small corridor from the city to evacuate soldiers and military equipment.
Earlier, Ukraine admitted that the Russian army had indeed surrounded Vugledar. According to a Russian serviceman nicknamed Manynoy, the Russian army is currently trying to break through to the village of Bogoyavlenka, a temporary gathering place for Ukrainian units retreating from Ugledar.
Ukraine continues its offensive in the Kursk region, Military Summary reported. Several Ukrainian armored vehicles were destroyed in attacks east of the village of Vesyole.
Meanwhile, at Toretsk, the Russian army is achieving more tactical victories across the central direction. Fighting in the eastern part of New York City is also heating up.
In Pokrovsk, fierce fighting is taking place. The Russian army continues its offensive and is getting closer to the village of Tsukurino. In connection with this front, the 105th coal mine has come under Russian control.
In Ugledar, the Russian army has controlled fire on all routes in and out of the city. The battle for the fortress city is coming to an end, with some 5,000 Russian soldiers fighting there. This number is far superior to the entrenched and trapped Ukrainian forces of the 72nd Mechanized Brigade.
Sources on the front line said that the Russian side still maintained a small corridor for Ukraine to resupply and retreat. However, this could be a trap waiting in the wings as all Ukrainian operations were within range of fire to destroy Ukrainian units in the open fields instead of having to fight fiercely in narrow urban areas.
At this point, Ugledar's fate was basically sealed.

Commander-in-Chief Syrsky makes the Eastern Front difficult to hold?
The Ukrainian Telegram Resident channel, citing a source in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that the Ukrainian army in the Pokrovsk direction is suffering heavy losses, while the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Alexander Syrsky, is unable to stabilize the situation amid the sending of reserve forces to Kursk.
“Despite heavy losses, the Ukrainian army in the Pokrovsk direction was ordered to hold its position without any hope of reinforcements arriving. They have no reinforcements, and the available units will be transferred to Kursk, by order of President Zelensky, to stay on Russian territory at all costs,” the source said.
According to Resident, the General Staff said that Mr. Syrsky had no plans on how to stabilize the situation in Donbass, while continuing the Kursk operation. The commander-in-chief lost control of the eastern front and the Ukrainian armed forces were ordered to stay in place, but without reserves.
Ukrainian sources also confirmed the very difficult situation for the Ukrainian armed forces in the Pokrovsk direction. According to preliminary information, the Russian army has made significant progress in Selidovo and Tsukurino.
