Hoa Loc 1 Hamlet is one of eight hamlets of Xuan Hoa commune, (Ke Sach district, Soc Trang province). The local economy is mainly based on agriculture.
In recent years, the movement of farmers competing in production and good business has been launched by the locality and has spread widely, contributing to improving the lives of farmer members and helping them escape poverty and become rich legitimately.
A typical example is member Ha Thanh Tuan; born in 1982 - a good farmer and businessman at the district level of Hoa Loc 1 hamlet, Xuan Hoa commune, Ke Sach district, Soc Trang province.

Mr. Tuan comes from a farming family, his family has 4 members, 2 main workers and 2 children going to school.
Mr. Tuan always understands the hardships of farming. He always thinks, learns, and gains experience from those who have gone before him. With the will and determination of his family, he decided to move forward and become rich from agriculture in his hometown.
At first, Anh Tuan's family, like many other families in the locality, intercropped many types of plants on the same area of land. Due to lack of experience in planting and caring for them, the family produced in the traditional way, and the products did not have high economic value.
He realized that if he wanted to get rich, he had to change the crop structure. With his youth, effort, and will to succeed, Mr. Tuan boldly converted 2,000m2 of low-value mixed garden with low economic income to specialized durian cultivation with high economic value.
During this time, Mr. Tuan himself researched, explored, learned and visited; studied effective business models of localities inside and outside the province.
By 2021, Mr. Tuan had combined science and technology into production, reducing the amount of pesticides and chemical fertilizers with biological and organic products. Thereby limiting the disease of gummosis on durian trunks and leaf blight.
Mr. Ha Thanh Tuan, a farmer who successfully converted crop and livestock structure in Xuan Hoa commune (Ke Sach district, Soc Trang province) next to his durian garden.
Received propaganda from Farmers' Associations at all levels about policies to support and encourage production development, with the help of local authorities and Farmers' Association of Xuan Hoa commune.
After a period of taking care of Mr. Tuan's durian garden, it has produced fruit. After deducting all expenses, the total revenue is over 200 million VND/year, bringing economic efficiency as he expected, creating jobs for 6 local workers.
He realized that the method was effective, so he boldly discussed with his family to borrow more capital from the Farmers' Support Fund; the social policy bank and combined with the existing accumulated capital to buy an additional 1 hectare of garden to grow durian.
In 2022, durian is one of the selected items for export to the Chinese market.
Not only Mr. Tuan but most of the local farmers are very excited and happy because the durian produced by the people themselves has increased the value of Vietnamese agriculture to the international market. Since then, the selling price of durian has always been high, creating income for the people and Farmers' Association members.
In addition, Mr. Tuan's family always complies with the policies and laws of the State; actively participates in movement activities launched by the locality as well as the Farmers' Association, and is annually recognized as a typical cultural family.
