On November 26, the Party Committee and People's Committee of Bach Hac Ward, Viet Tri City held a ceremony to receive, pay tribute to and bury the remains of martyr Duong Khac Trung at his hometown cemetery 46 years after his death on the southern battlefield. Attending the ceremony were leaders of the Provincial Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs.

Martyr Duong Khac Trung was born in 1958 in Mo Thuong area, Bach Hac ward, Viet Tri city, the eldest son in a family with a rich revolutionary tradition of 6 brothers and sisters. In November 1977, he volunteered to join the Vietnam People's Army at the age of 19 to protect the southwestern border of the Fatherland. As a squad leader of Regiment 2, Division 330, Sergeant Duong Khac Trung fought indomitably with his comrades, not afraid of sacrifice or hardship. In the fierce battle of the war to protect the southwestern border, he heroically sacrificed himself on April 9, 1978 at the southern front in Phuoc Hung commune, Chau Phu district, An Giang province, bordering Cambodia. The martyr was awarded many certificates of merit by the State and his unit during his training and combat.
The government, departments, branches, organizations, family and people of Mo Thuong area sent martyr Duong Khac Trung to his final resting place.
In accordance with the wishes of the family of martyr Duong Khac Trung to bring the remains of the martyr back to his hometown for convenient care, the Provincial Association of Martyrs and Families has coordinated with departments, branches, organizations, and local authorities to actively advise and guide the family to complete the procedures to support the movement of the remains of the martyr to the cemetery of Bach Hac ward.
The ceremony to receive, pay respects and bury the remains of martyr Duong Khac Trung was organized carefully, solemnly, dignifiedly, and in accordance with regulations, witnessed by a large number of local people.
