(Dan Tri) - In just one week, three bus drivers in Ho Chi Minh City were suspended from work after running red lights and using cell phones while driving.
On November 9, Mr. Pham Vuong Bao, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center, said that the unit had suspended the driver of NTS, bus route 24 (Mien Dong Bus Station - Hoc Mon district) for running a red light on October 15.
At around 5:40 p.m. on October 15, Mr. S. was driving bus number 24 with license plate number 51B-307.78 and ran a red light at a U-turn on To Ky Street, District 12. The entire incident was recorded by the dash cam of the vehicle behind.

On November 3, the 19/5 Transport Cooperative (bus management unit) also decided to temporarily suspend driver HTT (38 years old) indefinitely for driving the bus while using the phone while participating in traffic on Ly Thuong Kiet Street, Tan Binh District.
Recently, many bus drivers have been suspended from work due to violations of road traffic laws. The Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center recommends that transport companies regularly educate drivers to strictly comply with the law and strictly implement traffic safety regulations.
In addition, the center requires units to strengthen inspection and strictly handle acts that do not ensure traffic safety such as: Equipping or using air horns, driving at a speed exceeding the permitted speed, speeding, reckless overtaking, not closing the door while the vehicle is running, suddenly entering and exiting the station, driving at a speed of 5km/h when entering and exiting the bus station gates, etc.
