(NLĐO) - From March 30th, Vietnam Airlines will officially operate direct flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Beijing (China) via Beijing Daxing Airport (PKX).

The new Ho Chi Minh City - Daxing (Beijing) route will operate five flights per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays using Airbus A321 aircraft.

In addition to the new route, Vietnam Airlines is also increasing the frequency on the Hanoi - Beijing (Beijing Capital International Airport - PEK) route to 7 flights per week.

Daxing International Airport is the world's largest airport and one of the most modern aviation facilities globally. It was designed to alleviate congestion at Beijing International Airport and become a crucial regional transit hub. With its fast-paced transportation network, passengers can travel from Daxing Airport to the center of Beijing in approximately 40-50 minutes.

With the addition of these new routes, Vietnam Airlines will operate a total of six routes connecting Vietnam and China, including Hanoi - Beijing, Ho Chi Minh City - Daxing (Beijing), Hanoi - Shanghai, Ho Chi Minh City - Shanghai, Hanoi - Guangzhou, and Ho Chi Minh City - Guangzhou.

The total number of flights between the two countries also reached 40 per week, meeting the travel needs of passengers in both countries.

From June 1st, 2025, Vietnam Airlines will launch a direct flight route between Nha Trang and Busan, with a frequency of one flight per day. This is a new regular route aimed at meeting the growing travel demand between the two coastal cities of Vietnam and South Korea, while also expanding the airline's network in Northeast Asia.

The launch of the Nha Trang - Busan route not only marks a step forward in Vietnam Airlines' strategy to expand into international markets but also contributes to promoting economic and tourism cooperation between the two countries.

This is the seventh route connecting Vietnam with South Korea operated by Vietnam Airlines, including Hanoi - Seoul, Ho Chi Minh City - Seoul, Da Nang - Seoul, Nha Trang - Seoul, Hanoi - Busan, Ho Chi Minh City - Busan, and soon Nha Trang - Busan. The total number of flights between the two countries exceeds 50 per week, meeting the travel needs of passengers in both countries.

In just the first month of 2025, Noi Bai International Airport welcomed three new international airlines, contributing to an increase in international passenger traffic.

Most recently, at 11:50 AM on January 24th, AirAsia Cambodia flight KT620 from Phnom Penh, Cambodia, landed at Noi Bai Airport after a two-hour flight, officially inaugurating the regular round-trip international commercial route between Phnom Penh and Hanoi.

This new route will operate three round-trip flights per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays using Boeing A320 aircraft.

According to statistics, an average of over 40,000 international passengers arrive at Noi Bai Airport each day, surpassing the peak of previous years.
